Cricketics Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I watched it all. I was sitting court side during his semi finals recently in US Open. He and Bhupathi were looking to win the grandslam. Playing great tennis, but Leander got injured that game and had to leave the game. I still remember every Indian out there in disappointment, because they knew Leander/Bhupathi would have won that slam had Leander not gotten injured. So happy today to see him win. He still got it..
Clarke Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Over the whitewash already, thanks to Leander :hatsoff: A mixed doubles title would be sone par suhaga/icing on the cake.
Cricketics Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 For those who missed it, watch the last minute game and also the presentation ceremony. Paes is literally crying in joy. What an achievement. Son of 2 Olympians. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtC0Qpe-P1E]Leander Paes achieves Career Grand Slam - YouTube[/ame]
gs Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 :yay::yay: 11 Indians putting India to the height of shame in Australia. 1 Indian makes us proud there .. thanks Leander... :two_thumbs_up:
Cricketics Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Also I can't stop myself from posting this, but this guy fought Brain tumor few years back and came back strong and won some grandslams. I hope this serves as an inspiration for someone like Yuvraj Singh, who's perhaps going through something similar in his life.
