A Noida based artist Pranava Prakash who has put up an exhibition of nude paintings of Vidya Balan, Veena Malik and Poonam Pandey was assaulted by five unknown men, reports Mid Day. Reports suggest, the miscreants were heard saying that the paintings were "against Indian culture." Poonam Pandey's nude painting that created stir Prakash told the tabloid that the protestors were from a right-wing group and in the past have raised objections over his artwork saying that his paintings offend their beliefs. "I was in attendance at the art exhibition in the evening and I was taken by surprise when five people entered the gallery shouting slogans. They slapped me twice, threw me to the floor and then began pulling down the paintings, damaging three of my paintings. The images that were damaged were of Bollywood star Vidya Balan, Pakistani actress Veena Malik and model Poonam Pandey," said the Noida-based painter. Prakash informed the tabloid that one of the paintings ruined was that of Poonam Pandey in the nude, who was shown supporting anti corruption crusader Anna Hazare, with a Gandhi cap on her head. Expressing solidarity the Kingfisher model tweeted: "Reprehensible attack on artistic freedom in Delhi over painting Dirty Picture of Vidya Balan & Poonam Pandey."

Well deserved. Everyone has their opinion but for me it was against Indian culture. Edit: After looking at the painting I change my mind, it wasn't a big deal. It's cartoonish.
What is your opinion about the sculptures on the khajuraho temples? Are those against Indian culture too? Should they be destroyed?
