Needforspeed Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Let us not forget Raina's contribution as well. The guy had become the enemy of the nation was Sachin was 'rested' for his sake. In the end he justified the team management's faith in him. IMO it was absolutely the right decision to include Raina as we need to know whether he can cope on these pitches' date=' otherwise there is no point in persisting with him when get back to subcontinental pitches...plenty of other youngsters waiting in the wings. As for Sachin there will be plenty of opportunities to get to the 100th 100.[/quote'] +1. But Sachin should have played instead of Sehwag. They need to take a call on Sehwag now. He should be dropped for a few matches at least. Anyway, next match Sachin will play.
Stuge Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Dhoni stepped up when it mattered but still a bit concerned about his lack of singles when starting off. Kohli and Sharma threw away promising starts. I'm a tad worried about our bowling actually. We should have been chasing 250. Maybe give Zaheer a rest and play Pathan (it would strengthen our batting too). Other than that, solid effort from India. 7/10 times you will lose the match .Specially the way dhoni played initially .

Bowling was by and large OK...but against Australia, Rahul Sharma should play instead of Ashwin. I think Aussies are very confident of Ashwin and psychologically dominate him.
Stuge Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Perth ? they got it wrong :giggle::giggle: its seems its too late there .

That would mean making one the big 3 sit out (atm Sehwag looks like the one). Also it is absolutely vital that Kohli-Rohit-Raina combo bats at 3-4-5 in the batting order as that most likely is going to be our order in the future, esp 2015 WC. Whichever way you look at it...sehwag needs to do something fast.
VRV Singh Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Where does this leave the table guys. Do the Lankans need to give India and the Aussies a beatdown to go through instead?
NareshK Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Where does this leave the table guys. Do the Lankans need to give India and the Aussies a beatdown to go through instead? There's still a long way to go. 8 league games to play for each team.
adi B Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 dhoni in the post match presentation made it clear the pitch would bcome slow, so basically he will play 4-5 spinners vs lanka, dream for dhoni :haha:
Sid Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Time is running out for super tailunt Rohit.Need a match winning innings from him in next couple of games.

No dude, but atm everybody is contributing in some way or the other, except Sehwag. The guy runs his mouth like an @ss during interviews. Anybody remember his public censure of Sree during the WC "Everybody played well except Sreesanth"?? Well I guess the same could be said of Sehwag atm.
VRV Singh Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 There's still a long way to go. 8 league games to play for each team. Hold on...wtf..am I on crack? I forgot it was that long. Ok.
NareshK Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Time is running out for super tailunt Rohit.Need a match winning innings from him in next couple of games. He has been super consistent ever since he made his comeback. So I doubt he will be replaced after a couple of failures. If he had played in the last test, he would have got used to Aussie conditions a lot better by now. The team management missed a trick there.
rabinjackman Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 :hail:112 meters - that was the length of that last-over six. In Adelaide Oval it's no joke. conserved his energy for that monster hit
nitinbwj Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 dhobi got lucky..that was a rank poor ball from mckay

His style of play pisses me off.He is too loose and flashy, doesnt play percentage ODI cricket. You should atleast play according to situaton sometimes especially when openers are being roatated to give you a long and consistent run.
