Ultimate_Game Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Some good hard-hitting comments by MacGill on Indian cricketers, especially the seniors. Here's an excerpt... MacGill questioned the laid back attitude of the Indian players. "The sense of entitlement you get watching the Indians on tour is overwhelming. They are obviously being held back by the fact they generate the majority of world cricket income, because, far from having a do-or-die attitude, they appear to believe winning is secondary to the appearance. "If you're simply touring the world entertaining fans and driving TV revenue, then you don't belong in a national team. The next game really should be your last." Ultimate_Game Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 What a load of crap...India had a terrible series' date='doesnt mean every tom, dick and harry and has beens like mcgill should get published..terrible.[/quote'] When you put up a performance like what the Indians did, they deserve criticism from every Tom, Dick and Harry.
veer Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 hasnt read this article.. but i got the same feeling as well... very laid back.. especially from our laid back gurus Veeru chandra and rohit sharma..
Mandrake Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 When you put up a performance like what the Indians did' date=' they deserve criticism from every Tom, Dick and Harry.[/quote'] Sure, but this article has nothing to add...zero cricketing reasons...entertaining and driving tv revenue..wtf
Karan114 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 What a load of crap...India had a terrible series' date='doesnt mean every tom, dick and harry and has beens like mcgill should get published..terrible.[/quote'] India haven't just had a terrible series, they have had two diabolically bad away tours in a row, with performances in the Test matches that would disgrace Bangladesh. We have become the biggest joke in world cricket and so of course everyone is going to attack us - who can blame them, especially with the arrogance and obnoxiousness of the BCCI and some of our players over the last few years.
Ultimate_Game Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Sure' date='but this article has nothing to add...[b']zero cricketing reasons...entertaining and driving tv revenue..wtf Players' sense of entitlement and their lack of hunger sounds pretty fair and reasonable to me. He actually mentioned what we saw for ourselves.
Pagalpanti Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 His point is right, Indians always do well when they are under pressure, otherwise we get complacent quite easily.
Lurker Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 someone show him the Gambhir video :hysterical::hysterical: Body on the line comment should do it
SLICKR392 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 "If you're simply touring the world entertaining fans and driving TV revenue, then you don't belong in a national team. The next game really should be your last. Didn't he want to play in the IPL ? He was rooting for the Indian team before the auction. MC calls us showbiz now! buddha.
GautiMaan Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I don't think we can accuse anyone other than sehwag and rohit of being lackadaisical. But these two guys can really get on ur nerves...
yoda Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 What does generating most of the cricketing world's income have anything to do with not wanting to win. It is not like the income goes into the players' pockets. Yes with the IPL more money in their pockets, but c'mon to somehow say that our players aren't giving their 100% cause they make too much money is a bogus claim.
King Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Every tom dick and harry are having a field day. Stuart McGill of all is telling how to play cricket, this is the same bloke that couldn't get in the team and continue to throw up excuse Warne played in his era. Moreover this is the same guy that gave runs away like a millionaire in the 2003-04 series against India. I wish I could have asked him then if he is playing every game like his last.
achilles Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 No one really cares. Viru is too busy fighting ego battles, Dhoni is busy deflecting blame on himself, Raina is busy failing and Sachin is busy chasing his record.
SLICKR392 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 This guy is just taking out his anger of not being picked in the IPL!
