dial_100
Yup. Even I heard that they are targeting above 160 upto 180 seats. But Modi may step down from the race after polling. Again thats from my source. Who knows what will happen in these last few months.

Again thats from my source. Who knows what will happen in these last few months. This could be the tactic. We all know modi will increase BJPS popularity and gain more votes. But then will struggle to get coilition partners. So let him be canditate, increase BJPs votes, then step down once votes have been given to another leader acceptable to coilition partners. Is this the plan? But would modi step down?

Crookbond
Modi stepping down is a pipe dream. If that was the case, senior leaders like Advani wouldn't have had an issue with the BJP's poll campaign strategies.

Its just that after the elections if BJP is in a position to form the Govt then it would need allies and whether Modi likes it or not, the allies will have a very big role to play in selecting the PM candidate and he is not acceptable to any big regional party so he won't be the PM. Khalpat
The two best formation possible is: BJP coming to power but with the help of secular allies (by secular means a party really secular) this will keep a check on people like Togadia, Adityanath etc. Congress coming to power but with the help of Left support ( this will keep a check on corruption). someone
We I do not want Feku's or people who I want to believe despite any evidence are so strong against disadvantaged groups to be leading a nation. We do not want purely minority appeasement policies as well. Some middle ground would be nice. Fixed. And who exactly are disadvantaged people you talk about? Who exactly are secular parties? Just branding and labeling yourself as secular doesn't it reality. And really in India politics, I cannot think of any party truly secular. someone
Aren't BJP and Shiv Sena secular? :dontknow: Nope. It includes every party in India as none are truly secular. That starts with Congress obviously who believe they have the absolute right to be as "secularists" while others differently.

someone
But' date=' BJP also claim they are secular so they are also pseudo secularists? [/quote'] Well, we are firstly talking about true secular, a party which talks about equality. And equality can never happen once you start categorizing a person based on their religion, caste. Congress stated this movement and till today, they use that well and are really best in the dirty politics game. All other parties also fell somewhere in the line, with Congress leading that line and thus the word secular does not really hold much in reality. someone
So' date=' short answer is that BJP is also pseudo secular?[/quote'] Why you are always stuck there? If you are out to vote for a secular party, you better not vote cuz there aren't. It's all about relatively and surely as Congress labels itself secular, then the rest of parties are also. India in the current situation itself being really secular is very debatable so forget about the rest.
