GautiMaan Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Dravid's persona can never be replaced. But who do you think is the person best suited to replace him in the batting lineup?
vvvslaxman Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 We are talking about Wall not hole.. what is badrinath doing there
bajrang Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 kohli, pujara maybe rahane. dravid's retirement will fast track pujara though.
yoda Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Pujara is capable of long innings I think. Mukund may be, but he seems to have footwork issues.
GautiMaan Posted March 8, 2012 Author Posted March 8, 2012 We are talking about Wall not hole.. what is badrinath doing there You are ready to judge him with just 3 innings?
vvvslaxman Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Knowing where the off stump is, rock solid defense, temperament - these are some of the traits of Dravid. Rahane, Pujara not sold yet. Kohli has the temperament for big innings. But his shot selection and off stump play has to improve at the test level as there will be more slips.
vvvslaxman Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 You are ready to judge him with just 3 innings? He is genuinely found wanting against balls that are slightly quicker than Ranji trophy fast bowlers. He is always late on it. He sometimes looks totally hopeless. Actually i rate Dinesh Karthik above Badri
Sid Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Badri made a complete fool of himself playing quicks in WI.That guy cant play quality pace.
Stuge Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 To hard to tell who will be our next great wall of India .
maniac Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Why isn't Manoj Tiwary's name anywhere when we talk about the future? Not that I would have voted for him anyways but from what I saw he is not worse than Rohit(in terms of temparament) or Badrinath
SLICKR392 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 None! But I favor Badrinath. Still there is no one even close to being a good no.3! Kohli can replace Sachin and Rohit or Pujara can replace VVS! Dravid's slot is a big blow to India.
vvvslaxman Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 There is a case for moving Gauti down to no.3 and having someone like Mukund open the innings.
zep1706 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I would like to see Pujara replacing him at #3. Kohli should play at #5 or #6 at this point and then at #4 after Sachin retires.
master22 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Pujara at no 3 and kohli at 4 and no badrinath please he is a joke of a batsman.
maniac Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 There is a case for moving Gauti down to no.3 and having someone like Mukund open the innings. That looks like the most logical way to go....but you never know Liked Mukund's temparament in England though...Looks a good prospect
SLICKR392 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 There is a case for moving Gauti down to no.3 and having someone like Mukund open the innings. That's sounds better! Gauti can open and bat @ no.3. I hope we find a killer opener soon enough in the Domestic level or after the U19 world cup.
GautiMaan Posted March 8, 2012 Author Posted March 8, 2012 There is a case for moving Gauti down to no.3 and having someone like Mukund open the innings. I don't think gauti would take too kindly to that .He likes putting his body on the line before others doesn't he :--D
Sachin=GOD Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 There is a case for moving Gauti down to no.3 and having someone like Mukund open the innings. If there's a case for moving one of the openers down the order then Sehwag will want to move because he has wanted to bat down the order IIRC. As for Dravid's replacement, I think it will be Pujara.
Ponka Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Lets keep searching right now. Dont stop at one. Wouldn't mind if Dravid becomes part of Team's management somewhere.
