BeautifulGame Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Anyone thinking Jayalalitha will win bulk of constituencies in 2014 is outright deluded. At the rate she is performing she will lucky if she doesnt repeat her 2004 performance. As for the future of BJP they will always struggle to form a central as long as they have their hindutva image. In most states in India muslim voters(rightly or wrongly) influence the victory in a large no. of consTituencies. So most of these regional parties will never want to have pre election coallition with BJP and risk such a large vote base.Already the likes of Nitish Kumar feeling that way.To make it worse Communist parties will never enter a coalition with them. Unfortunately this means BJps sole hope is stiching together a post election coalition but then it would mean they would always be under the whims of the likes of Mamata or Jayalalitha or Mayavathi. IMO Congress will always be under a massive advantage for the foreseable future when compared with BJP imo.
Tapioca Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 We are where Germany was in the 1920s. Only a demagogue is missing.

someone Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Congress is safe for 20 years. That's really a "curse" of "Indian" democracy. People have infighting with each other just for sake of it while the "silent" party wins. ( Just see how the bias Indian media ignore the negatives of that party)
ganeshran Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Opposition parties always look hopeless when they are out of the power. Things seem completely different once they seize power and have the resources to influence the system. Congress's rout was predicted in the 2004 election, Outlook only gave them 100 odd seats in the loksabha, yet Tamilnadu and Andhra changed the entire landscape. Its only going to take a couple of big states to alter equations in 2014

BeautifulGame Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 do you think DMK is anywhere near being in a position to win a majority of the seats in Tamil Nadu in 2014? At this rate Jayalalitha is going she would be lucky to win a single seat outside Chennai. So DMK will definitely benifit massively from anti incumbency factor unfortunately.
BeautifulGame Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Opposition parties always look hopeless when they are out of the power. Things seem completely different once they seize power and have the resources to influence the system. Congress's rout was predicted in the 2004 election' date=' [b']Outlook only gave them 100 odd seats in the loksabha, yet Tamilnadu and Andhra changed the entire landscape. Its only going to take a couple of big states to alter equations in 2014 2004 results in Tamilnadu was well predicted before the election.Almost every pre poll prediction came up 37-38 seats to DMk and just Periakulam(Dinakaran constituency) to ADMK.
BeautifulGame Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The thing is congress very much knows most people in dont care about these corruption scandals when election comes. Its mostly upper middle class and rich who have time for these corruptions and they hardly influence voting much. At the same time Congress are definitely made some impact on the the lower middle class and rural vote bases with some of their schemes.Education loan to students , NREGA and interest subsidy to farmer loans are definitely schemes that will get them votes come election. SO despite being the biggest ever corrupt govt in our history congress is in a much better position to face 2014 elections than BJP imo.
Trichromatic Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 At least BJP can win by huge margin on internet. :giggle:
