akshayxyz Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Every kid in India plays cricket. I am sure you did that just like SRT' date=' me and millions others. Regarding catching train and playing cricket, plenty of people do that and still do. Hell I used to catch bus to go play school matches during summer vacation. In Delhi during summers (summer vacation time) you will be surprised how many kids do so, and I am sure kids in Mumbai do the same. But as time goes on and you have to make a choice and I wasn't good enough to continue cricket like millions others whereas SRT was. Hell he was in Bombay side at 14 and scored 100s in domestic tourneys!!! But I doubt he would have continued playing cricket if he didn't make any money out of the game coz at the end of the day you have to feed the family as well. Love for sport is fine but nobody "dedicates life for the team" if you die of hunger.[/quote'] UG. Let me just close it by repeating. You know nothing about what motivates a sportsman of highest class. You will be lucky enough if you get to learn in this lifetime. At least it will help your kids, if it comes too late for your own good.
Dravid_TheWall Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I can see mr. braindead with the laptop, but is the one at the far end Sachinism? :hmmmm2: The little one is sachin=God, he looks to others for reassurance and love :cantstop:
Lurker Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Fanaticism clouds people's judgement. These guys can't stand a single criticism of their hero. Even today many people call Kapil selfish for prolonging his career and most Kapil fans probably agree with that or politely disagree cause they were just fans and not fanatics. We are talking a new breed here. Fully seconded. :hatsoff:
The Outsider Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 You know as well as I do' date=' too many people have made investments including the board to allow Tendulkar (or other big name players) to skip the IPL. They've been told, if they're fatigued and need a break, they are free to skip any tour for India[/quote'] If he is as dedicated as you make out to be, he can say no. If someone in the Indian team can say no, it's Tendulkar, right? Anyhow, this isn't about him skipping India matches for IPL. It's entirely his choice and priorities. This is about putting a selfish pursuit in front of the team's cause. When others can be criticized and those innings be called a disgrace for doing so, what makes Tendulkar immune to it?
Crookbond Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Dude. I am reading that line now, but what is so wrong about that???? You, and other Sachin-bhakts, tend to beleive he is above you in every aspect. Fair enough, but please leave us out of this. Yes Sachin is one of the best sons we ever produced, doesnt make him better than us in every aspect, does it now? Imagine how it would feel if someone walked to your parents and told - Ha your kid sucks in front of Sachin..or maybe shared the same sentiment with your spouse/better half. Sachin is awesome, but he aint better than you in every aspect. Have some backbone to urself...or atleast let some of us have it. :whack: Lurks, This is exactly what I felt about the statement to be objective. As far as I can understand, Shwetabh claims he hasn't jeopardized any team's chances and he feels Tendulkar has one one occasion. I don't see anything wrong in that. Personal opinion.
akshayxyz Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 It is true. I come on this thread and I see people comparing midget to jawans and mother theresa. Tindu doesn't have anything offer beyond cricket. Since everyone is hell bent on talking about a cricketer who has devoted himself to the world, than look no further than Sreesanth. He is writing a book on life, he has taken part in dancing/acting/singing, he writes poetry, philosophy, loves nature, good to his fans, visits young poor kids and allows them to dream. He has more wisdom then Tindu, what can Tendulkar do apart from play cricket? Cricketer S Sreesanth performing 'Sayana Pradakshinam' at Sabarimala temple ...excuse the excess weight, it was off season. Shiv Sena said Gavasker was a true Marati unlike Tindu, if he can't even win approval of his own state, let alone entire Bharat. :hysterical: dude you are doing more harm than good to reputation of your idol - Sreesanth.
Sachinism Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I can see mr. braindead with the laptop, but is the one at the far end Sachinism? :hmmmm2: :two_thumbs_up: Yeh, okay that's me. Great job.
zen Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I can see mr. braindead with the laptop, but is the one at the far end Sachinism? :hmmmm2: The discussion above: Sachinish: SRT > Mother Teressa Braindead: Yeah, he use to wake up early, catch a train and play cricket Others: post it post it :two_thumbs_up:
The Outsider Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 People could've the same way said how it was a poor innings and left it at that match, but no, they took shots at his whole career & his character. Maybe if others took a reasonable approach, they'd be given the respect. Yeh that (piece of ****) comment was 'heat of the moment' but the point still stands - No way as selfless as most people believe And now you will see the difference between admirers of Mother Teresa and bhakts of Tendulkar. Even after that comment of yours, no one has called you a retarded chewtiya. You think Mother Teresa was a piece of ****, someone doesn't then there would be some points offered about why she was not a piece of ****, but has anyone asked you yet - "what the feck have you done in life to call her a piece of ****", "you're a retarded chewtiya because you think Mother Teresa is a piece of ****". And I did not even call Tendulkar a piece of **** - called one innings of his a disgraceful moment in Indian cricket and look at the reaction I got. If you still can't understand the difference in reactions from the fan boys, then anything I say further will be useless. So, signing out from this discussion. Sincerely, Retarded Chewtiya.

There is nothing wrong in that, except it was made "against" a particular player. If Shwetabh says he hasnt gone against his team, and Sachin has..that can be taken with a grain of salt instead of prostrating infront of bhagwaan-ji to show how kaafirs are attacking him. For the record, I have tanked my own team's chances so I am kinda like Sachin here :hysterical:

Personal opinion.[/quote'] It wasn't even an unsolicited personal opinion. Someone asked -"What the feck have you done in your life to criticize Tendulkar". Well obviously nothing in cricket compared to him, but then my cricketing achievements are inferior to even Jadeja so I can't criticize him either. And since we don't have anyone on ICF who has played cricket to a higher level than Jadeja, maybe anyone criticizing him should be abused as well. Or, have I done anything in life where I consider myself to be better than Tendulkar? Yeah, I certainly feel so and most people in their right minds would be able to point to some achievement of their they are proud of and superior to Tendulkar in.
Sachinism Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 If he is as dedicated as you make out to be, he can say no. If someone in the Indian team can say no, it's Tendulkar, right? When others can be criticized and those innings be called a disgrace for doing so, what makes Tendulkar immune to it? I'm sorry, but I disagree, all through the history of cricket, there has been an anchor in the team, while others can play around him. If he got the record and we won, everything would've been forgotten, but we lost. Why we lost? Many reasons. As he said himself, it was becoming a burden - Now that doesn't mean he is playing for records. He could've just went out there and batted normally, but then got out just short of a 100 and then there's all this talk, which gets louder and louder every innings he doesn't get a 100, if you say he should be unaffected by that, or you wouldn't then you are a special being. It was being made to sound like nobody ever got out after getting even a small start. He shouldn't be immune to it, you should read my twitter feed during the time, I called him out for it well before he got to 100, when he got it and after but again we still should've won the game. What I have an issue with is the attacks on his character and how his whole career has been a selfish pursuit.

For the record, I have tanked my own team's chances so I am kinda like Sachin here :hysterical: :nice: for Sachin! Also, I don't understand where does "20 years of dedication" come into picture when we are talking about one particular innings against Bangladesh. To add, the so called "haters" have actually anointed Sachin with phrases like - "proudest son of India", "one of the best batsmen" etc. Surely, there must be something more to do to deserve the tag of a "hater". Calling Mother Teresa "a piece of sh!it" can be a good place to start, btw. :--D
Ponka Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Some tough points, digest if you can. How many careers he didnt allow to come into team cuz he was always preferred by selectors to be given a permanent run in the team when he was non-performing? Why a different selection criterion for him??? He gave his life to the team for himself. He got respect, money and fame in return. If he hadn't showed up, somebody else would have. It was his decision to play cricket, not the billions of Indians went to his home when he was 15 to ask him to play cricket. BS Logic of yours and other sachin fanactics to come up with that. In west nobody gives a damn to such points and see where they're in every field internationally. You did it for yourself what you did and you got everything in return which you expected - simple. He spent over 20 years in cricket. Tell how many times he saved India (do not mention personal records here), just talk about India. Those 2 knocks in Sharjah, One in centurion against Pakistan, couple of other test match knocks, one ODI knock here and there. In 20+ years you can't come up with more than 10 innings on Tendulkar where he saved India from scars of defeat. Point is simple, The day he said after achieving his 100th century that it was his 22 year goal, that was enough as Indian fan to reach conclusion that he played for centuries in the end. In his mind he was destined to achieve 100th 100 and in that process he kicked **** of Kohli's epic knock and India's chances of winning another Asia Cup. Not to mention, where was his pride to come up infront of media as the best batsman of India when India was losing 8-0? He was okay to send youngster in press conferences. Thats a dont care country attitude right there when you cant defend your country in tough times. Would love to hear what other sachinistas have to say about the points made earlier by Ponka. :hatsoff:

You should have told him you passed Matriculation exams at first attempt unlike Sachin :hysterical: This reasoning - Sachin better in every aspect - is reflective of the individual and how much faith he has in his own abilities dare I say. I could have been a kisaan in my gaaon, Chatra jilla by the way and still feel I had my own plus points compared to Sachin...or for that matter Kapil Dev :--D

Indian cricket site where people are 'bhakts' If it was said elsewhere I would've been called all sorts. Sorry for being offended when my hero is compared to someone who I don't respect as much. P.S. That "retarded chewthiya" wasn't directed at your OP, more to the commenters in the few pages before I made the comment
Laaloo Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Would love to hear what other sachinistas have to say about the points made earlier by Ponka. :hatsoff: Most people have you on the ignore list so I doubt if they would be able to respond :hehe:

Personally, I see no issues with that. What I take offense too is someone then coming and spewing abuses just because one doesn't like his favorite player (be it Sachin or Bradman). It goes to worse heights when another legend is brought into play and abused (literally) for an innings played 15 years earlier. To me, I just see vested interests here. I'm sorry but that's the what I see.
The Outsider Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 What I have an issue with is the attacks on his character and how his whole career has been a selfish pursuit. There might have been a few occasional posters who have called his entire career a selfish pursuit, but among the regular vocal posters I can recall off the top of my head like U_G, Lurker, mcenley, Outsider no one has done that. The innings was called selfish and a disgrace to Indian cricket and anyone can go to the start of this thread to see from where the personal attacks began. Don't think anything has been deleted/edited in the thread. I am not replying to the rest of your post because if you genuinely believe he was anchoring the innings rather than selfishly pursuing his hundred, nothing I am going to say at this point is going to convince you.
