express bowling Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Yeah i am serious. If haters can blame for the loss against Bangladesh then i have every right to praise sachin for this win. Sachin played excellently today. Good strike rate and good partnership with Kohli. Well done. BUT you seriously don't think that Sachin played extremely slowly against a very mediocre Bangladeshi attack just so that he could get his century ? Surely Sachin is a much better player than a 72 strike rate century, 78 strike rate for the whole innings, against a Bangladeshi attack on a flat pitch. Why are so many people either blind fanboys or blind haters of Tendulkar ? The truth is somewhere inbetween.
Yoda-esque Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Sree has more fans worldwide if you consider non cricket followers too.. Bottom line is, I am not a blind worshipper and I can take banter about Sree. When I switch the computer off I am not worried about any anti Sree comments. I couldn't careless what others say, I get on with my life and enjoy it. You can tell these people have stopped functioning in their own lives due to Sachin saga :cantstop: Oh and something for Sachin=God. When your God retires from cricket he will be gone. Just reduced to a dwarf with man boobs sitting at home with slippers on. Sreesanth has every door open to him, music, dancing, movies, politcs, all hail the real GOD of LIFE :yay: I have heard some whoppers before but this one takes the cake:hysterical:
Raghav_12 Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 [ I hate to do this ( I enjoyed his knock so much today). ] He took 16 balls to move from 90 to 100 - even today. While for same 10 runs Sachin had taken 13..!! I had not watched Sachin's innings y'day and I had thought that people would have had some reason to go on rampage of such magnitude. Now if you look at the fact that Kohli was in full knowledge of India's stiff target still he got slow to complete his century, while Sachin's effort came in first innings when he was uncertain about what is good target. Can anybody explain why Kohli who was scoring at the strike rate of 110 before his 90 (90 runs, 81 balls) and scored at strike rate of 166 after 100, scored at the pathetic strike rate of 62.5 between his 90 and 100. Why this wasn't a selfish act? Why did he find scoring so difficult for that brief period of time, while he was butchering bowlers either side of that period? Though Kohli could pull it through for team eventually, but should that blind us from the fact that he was putting his team at great risk just for his personal milestones? Some legends who think their posts should be taken seriously, must answer this if they want to restore any credibility to their comments/posts.

I had not watched Sachin's innings y'day and I had thought that people would have had some reason to go on rampage of such magnitude. That too, when he and his partner both were already going that slow. Now if you look at the fact that Kohli was in full knowledge of India's stiff target still he got slow to complete his century, while Sachin's effort came in first innings when he was uncertain about what is good target. It would have put team's interest in jeopardy. Some legends who think their posts should be taken seriously, must answer this if they want to restore any credibility to their comments/posts. Legends :giggle:...raja bhoj aur uski mujra paltan aaj gayab hain.. waiting to share their cricket and integrity ka gyan..at the next disgraceful act by the most selfish player ever.
AAAA Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 How disgraceful that the cheat Ajmal got Tendulkar out? I cant belive a chucker like him is allowed to play as far as I am concerned Tendulkar got out to a cheat it does not count in my mind. So where are all the hate mongers? Do they have the balls to say sorry to Tendulkar? I am guessing not.

You seriously are trying to compare the two 100s is it? :giggle:
kabira Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Even Rohit slowed down to get his 50, I remember 2 dot balls on 49 in power plays, batting powerplay was not good for us even when asking rate was 8. but boy did Virat blossom after that.
Trichromatic Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Tendulkar played very his role at the start. After early loss of Gambhir India needed to save wickets and still score quickly. Kohli was initially bit slower and Sachin provided much needed momentum to build our chase. He looks in good touch. I hope he plays more good innings for the team.
Raghav_12 Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 You seriously are trying to compare the two 100s is it? :giggle: No, not at all. Kohli's century was act of brilliance while Sachin scratched through his way to 114. I am just equating the process of slowing down before century for which Sachin was castigated on this forum like never before. I am wondering why Sachin's slowing down was termed as most disgraceful thing ever to happen for indian cricket while very same people are not questioning same motive which Kohli showed, as per their definitions only and even to greater extent. All these leading lights of selflessness proclaimed that they are not unhappy with Sachin's overall innings but ashamed with his slowness around century mark. Why these same set of people are silent when Kohli did same thing. Kohli 90 to 100 - 16 Balls - Second Innings Stiff Target ahead Sachin 90 to 100 - 13 Balls - 1st innings - no idea about what a good target is.

The slowing down was to get to the personal milestone of 100x100 and had a direct impact on our final score and essentially the final outcome of the game. It essentially said, my 100x100 is more important than my team's cause and hence got the flak it deserved. Also, without Raina's blistering knock, we don't even get to the total that we did. At Tendulkar's SR we don't even get to 240. If even after the slowing down, however selfish it may have been, if we had won the game, most of us wouldn't have cared less. That is the way it goes. You lose the game, we look for reasons. You win, all is forgotten. Anyways, all of this was beaten to death yesterday. I donno what purpose it serves to challenge people to keep regurgitating the same thing over and over again. It is like those Bradman threads, where BB says "hey look at this Hobbs technique, how sucky, let's all start laughing at Bradman and co. again".
kabira Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 ^but Yoda, Rohit slowed down for his 50, Kohli slowed down for his 100. Only thing is we won the game, what if Kohli had got out at exactly 100? There is never a one reason to lose the game. We should have won that game against Bangladesh with bonus point, our bowling sucked.

Unfortunately he got out and we had to undergo these extended sessions on integrity:hysterical:
yoda Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 ^but Yoda' date=' Rohit slowed down for his 50, Kohli slowed down for his 100.[/quote'] Yes, I was mighty pissed with Rohit's approach pushing for singles when the asking rate was 8 RPO and then we had the 16 run over which turned the tables. Like I said above, winning makes a big big difference. Our bowling sucked, but SRT sucked too and there is nothing wrong in saying that, or at a minimum let people who think so say it. You don't have to agree, but it doesn't mean those who think so need to be demonized.

But this kinda reasoning can explain if all this backlash had come from ignorant newbie cricket fan. From people who understands cricket it's immature.
express bowling Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 -- This tendencey of players to slow down significantly before personal milestones is extremely anti team and need to be strongly discouraged. Whether it is Tendulkar or Kohli or anybody else, it is equally bad. -- This logic that Kohli did it too has no bearing with whether Tendulkar played slowly for his century. Tendulkar played slowly throughout his innings against Bangladesh for his century. That is a fact , it is bad and anti team. He also played brilliantly against Pakistan it is good and pro-team. Kohli slowed down before his century --- that is a separate happening and is anti team. Kohli's rest of the innings was brilliant and pro-team. How does Kohli's or other players' selfish acts justify Tendulkar's selfish acts ? All are equally bad.
