Cricket Tragic Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Would have been good to get into the final and beat Pakistan again (and watch KOHLI) but I'm not really too bothered about it. After doing well in series that counted (NZ away, Aus home, SA away and WC) we failed in the two turns that mattered after the WC - Eng and Aus. Not winning an ODI series makes no difference after that. I'm waiting for some test cricket. Can't wait for the home series at the end of the year. Eng v SA should be good this summer as well.

I mean not qualifying for final, BD defeating them, yeah won vs Pak but still Pak batting lineup scoring 300+, dont remember when last time in few years Pak scored 300+ODI runs except vs Kenya, BD etc... I rather see more of worrying things for indian cricket instead of this happiness… But fair enough if beating Pak is everything what you guys want in cricket :)

Although I never do pray for cricket at least :D but yeah no doubt people do... but I think not in Pak only, its donet everywhere, specially in Asia... 2. whether u belive or not me and all my frnds here wanted only a Ind-Pak final... Thats why we were kind of OK with defeat vs Ind cz it brighten up Pak-Ind final chances but hath ho gya hamarey sath :((

Only team that can be happy about their performance is BD. That's 100% true, we beat SL and BD but lost against Ind. India beat us and SL but lost against BD SL ki toh baat hi na chedo. BD is the only team happy with their overall show.

We have shown battingwise we have youngsters waiting in the wings (Kohli, Rohit and to a lesser extent Rahane, Pujara & Tiwary) who can take over. Fieldingwise the youngsters are pretty good and can hold their own. Bowlingwise we have seen Umesh emerge and with likes of Aaron and Rahul Sharma in the wings we will be fine. This tourney was more of a self-inflicted wound due to us not batting B'desh out of the game which we could and should have done, barring which I still don't see any team beating us in the sub-continent the way we disposed off Lankans and Pakis. Our youngsters are aggressive and can handle pressure as shown by Kohli & Rohit and we will be a force to be reckoned with.

Pak scored 300 runs as it was a crap pitch. We chased it with 3 overs to spare. So we could have chased 360-370 against your bowling which although is not as good as Pakistani fans think it is (powerhouse etc) is still decent and would rank behind SA,Oz and Eng. Also this was our 2nd string attack. Yadav, Aaron, ZAK are a lot better and did not play. But for Pakistan it was first string attack (and no Amir-Asif don't count). 2. As for losing against Bangla it was due to Sachin. And it is okay, I don't care. If a loss to Bangladesh means we get real Sachin back I'm cool with it. If you saw cricket in last few years Sachin was the best batsman in cricket. He hit a lot of huge innings in both ODI and test and was ICC player of year 2010 with 80+ avg. Even in 2011 against Steyn and co in SA he hit 2 100's. In WC he did well being one of the top scorers. Once he got to 99th 100 you could see pressure had arrived and he suffered loss in form. Now the 100 is done you saw what he did to your bowlers. If anyone has to be worried it's you guys. Afridi,Gul,Cheema etc were badly exposed in the match against us. You'll prolly win the finals as you have expert minnow basher Afridi who'll prolly take a 5fer and then next tournament against a strong team you'll lose again.

Ind - Defeated Pak. 100th 100 and getting old Sachin back. SL - Took India out.

Yeah I would have loved to defeat Pak in the finals but if the choice was beeteen Asia Cup OR the 100th 100 (and loss to Bangla) I'd take the 100th 100 in a heartbeat. PS: I am putting OR. Would have loved 100th 100 as well as Asia cup but if given a choice I'd know what to do.

You can have the Asia Cup, we're satisfied with our World Cup :dontmentionit: As for India, bowling was, is and will be our biggest concern but will continue to be ignored by our selectors.

(ODI) I think they have lost 5-6 consecutive bilaterals.
