First needs to secure his spot in his Kerala Ranji team let alone Indian team. He has not even been worthy to play for Kerala off late if one sees his performance for them whenever he played there.
Good players who have bowled match winning international spells don't need to waste time rotting in ranji. If he is match fit and bowling well in the nets, he should be in the team. We need him.

How can Sreesanth help Indian team if he cant help (control) himself. He has a buttload of talent but with no brains its hard to see him being very successful. He used to bowl in the low 140s when he came to the international arena and had a deadly away swinger and had the ability to land it on the spot. When he did that, he bowled some amazing spells even in India. Now he is in the low 130s trundler range and doesnt get any shape or get the line/length right. He has also gained some weight which means injuries, lower pace, lack of stamina to bowl more. It will be hard for him to come back. BCCI doesnt force its players to be fit. How can Sreesanth and Zaheer be fit if they eat Mutton Biriyani and Butter Chicken. They should have strict diet and workout regimens and whoever is reluctant to follow it should be kicked out regardless of there talent because their unfit mind and body will eventually take its toll on the team. And also we need to stop playing so many JAMODIs, T20s, IPL, etc.
Zak is 33, and has been the best bowler for India in the past 9-10 years. He has been taking the load of the bowling department when our other pacers were bowling absolute filth. Don't compare him with Shree ! Blame the board and the coaches for not grooming Shree up rather than what they munch of lunch n dinner..:om:

Yes he does need to get matches under his belt but I don't thing ranji is the answer. A lot of toil involved and won't improve his skills. I think a lot of practise at NCA, IPL and county stint would be ideal. Self discipline is key with fitness and hardwork. I honestly don't think ranji will help but maybe I just dont know enough about your first class system.

He is way ahead of Sree in terms of performance but on the fitness area, the entire Indian team is on the same level - UNFIT. You think diet is not a big deal? There is a saying "You are what you eat". Excess fat / Lack of muscle tone translates to poor stamina. That is evident when you see Indians on the field. Once the opposition gets on top, our players give up and go through the motions. Its really irritating to see a young player like R Ashwin look so tired on the field. And no they cant just eat unhealthy food and hit the treadmill and everything will be ok. THey need to do BOTH RIGHT to be at their peak performance level.
Do agree, diet comes before exercise. What we always tell the patients.
