Dravid_TheWall Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Lara couldnt last the IPL. What makes you think he would have lasted through Aus and England tour at this age? Age is irrelevant in tests. The guy is only 2 years older than Dravid. Steve Waugh played till 40's and in past people have played till 45.

Corrected. And this is only for international test matches. C K Nayudu played top league FC cricket until age of 61.
Lurker Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 "My critics haven't taught me my cricket," Sachin Tendulkar Fully agree. Sachin is different to Rahul Dravid, or Saurav Ganguly in this matter. Unlike Sachin, all of Dravid's critics lined up at Chinnaswamy every morning at 5 am to give Dravid catching practice, then after a couple of hours they would all watch Dravid jog egging him on for an extra lap. A quick chai-nasta later these critics would be bowling off 22, in some cases 20 yards, to help Dravid practise his defensive strokes. Across the country at Eden Gardens myriads of Bengalis would do the same for Ganguly shouting "Taratari sixer maarchis khokha" as each one of them would roll their arms over. Apparently Matric fails tend to develop better comprehension skills these days :nice:

CasualVisitor Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 He may not have been up to his usual standards without practising and getting into shape, but he still would have averaged in 40's for both tours. That is all we needed, someone to support Dravid in Eng tour. I think he would have got some big scores which would have saved us from whitewash. Whatever floats your boat :giggle:
shinchan Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 one more time:finger::finger::finger::finger::finger::finger::finger:to haters

Sachin=GOD Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 As I've said in another thread - he will retire when he wants to retire and till he plays, he will be in the team. Haters can continue whining - its good to have some entertainment :nice:
