CSK Fan Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Absolutely. Arrogance and egoism' date=' yet a liking to maintain a very sweet boy reputation[/quote']
Sachinism Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Little doubt about it? then tell me why was Ponting and Hussey not dropped when they were going through a worse form than Sachin? Little doubt about it indeed Short term memories. Seriously how anyone in their right mind can believe that is beyond me  Its not even worth wasting time explaining it to these people.
Sachin=GOD Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Oh shut up! You're lucky to be playing for India. If you were playing for Australia' date= you would have been sidelined when you were poor in a period in last decade. You decided to be a cricketer. Nobody came and asked you to pick up the bat. You're paid for it. So cut this crap of having a decision of your own to decide. Its India which comes first. You've made India lose Asia cup. You should be replaced by a youngster who's willing to perform for India and not for himself. yeah, just like Ponting was sidelined when he averaged 39 and made just 6 centuries in 49 Test matches from the beginning of 2007 to the end of 2011 (i.e. till just before the recent India-Aus series started) - Link Or maybe just like Mike Hussey was sidelined when he averaged 37 and made 3 centuries in 27 matches between 2008 and 2010 - Link Advice for you - next time check the records before posting random BS.

Lara would have been going for it a lot earlier. That is what separates the great from the good. Lara was free flowing, attacking, Tindu, not so.
germanrotweiler Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Still the so called fans who blame Tendu for the loss against BD are showing how very little understanding they have about the game.... 290 was a good enough score to win against a minnow team like BD, ydays match in itself was a proof that Pakistan defended a below par score and made it into a match winning score..... And when played SL gambir wasted almost 2-3 overs to get his 100 and by Gods grace we somehow defended it..... Bowlers lost us the Asia cup Not sachin... this is the utter reality and sometimes reality can be bitter....

At that stage, with the number of wickets in hand, you DO NOT slow down for personal reasons or say "yes we have enough, let us slow down". Regardless of your bowling you look at your batting situation. Also our bowling is poor, Dhoni has said in past we need to score big :--D

When Tendu slowed down why dint virat try to take some risks, he batted out a maiden over which was beyond imaginable.... If a batsmen turned bowler like Hafeez can bowl 10overs for 30 then at least Ashwin the IPL rockstar should have done something close to it... hell he was bowling short lollipops to Shakib or he was bowling down the leg side... And the lesser told spoken about Jadeja the better... Not even dhoni would have imagined 290 was made to look like 230 by our bowlers...
Dravid_TheWall Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Yes Dhoni has specifically said in the past we should aim for 300 plus. In that position no one imagined we would end up with 290. Also I don't know what you are trying to prove by saying our bowlers suck, some of us have been saying that for ages.. All it proves is that since bowlers suck and match situation also dictated to go for it. People who can't see Tendu slowed down for ton are really dumb or blind worshippers.
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 http://www.openthemagazine.com/article/sports/my-critics-didn-t-teach-me-cricket Read proper interview rather than ToI crap. Full interview in print magazine though loved the comment below:haha:
zen Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 loved the comment below:haha: you mean this one: Scoring one of the slowest ODI centuries in the last 5 years. Is according to Sachin Tendulkar, him at his best. You know what. Go dig deeper the records of the last 23 years. There are only a few thing which shine out in their consistency. 1. The guy is not just a choker but easily one of the all time greatest chokers who ever lived. If Americans understood cricket they would probably all die laughing that such a choker is considered a God. 2. The guy is so intrinsically selfish that he simply does not understand how a team really wins a match. 3. His batting on difficult pitches and difficult bowlers (forget difficult situations) is incredibly bad compared to nearly all successful batsmen for the last 20 years. The real reason why he wants to continue in the team (also according to people in the know) are the following 1. Huge advertisement contract loss (The dude built a 70 crore house and now needs more cash flow than avg) 2. Tagging with Dhoni and companies to rack up a few more big victories. Infact his deepest fear is that if he suddenly quits, the Indian team (Remember how India won T20 WC, Mumbai won Champions League) will start winning a lot more and the difference will be so obvious and with no pressure from advertisers the media will start slowing digging his grave deeper after his retirement. 3. His basic stupidity in believing that someday he will perform under pressure to prove all his critics wrong. This is a noble desire but what the dude does not understand that medically it is nearly impossible. Sachin's choking is too deeply ingrained in biological condition (research has proven this) and there is simply no way he can ever perform under pressure.

But any Indian fan would say that our bowlers are good enough to defend a score like 290 Against BD... If our bowler just 2 days back prior to the match could defend a score like 303 Against an INFORM SL side our bwlers should have done better against BD no questions asked.... People who blame Tendu for all the shortcomings are just showing their level of or lack of cricketing knowledge..

People who blame Tendu for all the shortcomings are just showing their level of or lack of cricketing knowledge.. Mushfiqur Rahim wasgoing to target our bowlers.. not our batsmen.. doesn't that tell you.. our bowling sucks all the time. Even with zaheer we allowed England to make 338. On subcontinental pitches our bowling always sucks. Only strength is to bat the opposition out. We were in tremendous position to do that. We let it go... Our bowlers get lucky once in a while like defending 303 successfully :cantstop: . This is a third string bowling attack.. not even second string attack.. When ever our first string itself sucks it is foolish to expect a lot from third string bowlers.

Though Pakistan's bowling is slightly better, but we had additional 53 runs. So we should have defended that total. In any case when your bowler can concede 3 sixes in span of six balls along with a four, then I don't think you can look elsewhere for blame.
vvvslaxman Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 ohhh yeah ? why dont you explain how they have ALWAYS managed to defend any total above 270 and that too against a team like Australia ... I expect you to run away from this thread and never show up :hysterical: http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?batting_fielding_first=1;class=2;continent=2;filter=advanced;opposition=2;orderby=start;runsmin2=270;runsval2=runs;team=6;template=results;type=team Fact that you couldn't come up with a stat in the last 3 years.. explains you are here to troll nothing else. Were you on dope when India was powerless to stop England from getting to 338. A reminder http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/433586.html 13 needed from the last over, and Peterson is on strike. Nehra to bowl, Zaheer runs across to offer him some advice. The crowd is chanting, great atmosphere out there, electric stuff. Another break as the batsman have a chat. 49.1 Nehra to Peterson, FOUR, 75.8 mph, huge swipe, Peterson was aiming for the stratosphere there but a thick inside edge shot past the stumps and Dhoni and down to fine leg. That's so unlucky for the bowler! 49.2 Nehra to Peterson, SIX, 81.4 mph, six runs! Peterson was walloped the leather off this one, sending the ball sailing over cow corner. His team-mates are whooping and cheering in the changing room! 49.3 Nehra to Peterson, 2 runs, inswinging yorker in the blockhole! But he jams down on it, the ball rolls down to fine leg and they push really hard for the second ... scores level! Direct hit but Peterson slides home in time The field comes up 49.4 Nehra to Peterson, FOUR, 84.3 mph, there's the game! Peterson steps away and slams it through the covers, roaring with delight as the ball threads the gap and races away Nehra not long ago our first choice opening bowler... against a tailender
