Philander goes wicketless for the first time ever!

After 13 consecutive innings in which he got at least one wicket and after getting to 50+ wickets, Philander finally went wicketless in his 14th bowling innings. This probably might be a record for anyone to go so many innings picking at least a wicket. So the question is - is his golden streak going to end now? Surely, he can't keep going like this forever.

to think that he will continue to average sub15 is ridiculous. Having said that his style seems to suggest longevity and effectiveness the world over. It wouldnt surprise if we revisit this thread 10 tests later and he is still around the 23-24 avg mark

Eh? He has bowled very well at various times during the series. He just hasn't got a lot of wickets like he usually does. He has set very high standards.

thats why it would be fun .. two fairly strong batting units .. (england have edge there) against two very very strong bowling unit (pace wise south africa have edge,spinners england ) fielding too is top notch if its on green wickets i would expet some high quality test cricket from teams who know how to play fast bowling and produce quality spells :P
