Texan Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Waiting for him to bowl on SC tracks... I doubt if he will be effective on SC tracks:headshake:
Texan Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Not surprising.. when you consider it is technically it is a South Africa vs South Africa A contest :cantstop: :cantstop: Saf Bowlers vs Saf batters
Texan Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 but it does not matter thing is over all its a good attack wasnt morkel wicketless in last innings? :hmmmm: then got 6 england vs south africa ... i cant wait :yay: There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that SA's current bowling attack is the absolute best in the world. 3 wicket-taking quickies with varying styles: Steyn = Pace + Swing Philander = Accuracy + Seam Movement Morkel = Pace + Bounce One reserve fast bowler (de Lange) and a leg-spinner (Tahir). Ideal combination!
Raghav_12 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Dale Steyn's poor fourth innings record continues. That's kind of perplexing. I guess bowlers would tend to have better average in fourth innings (as most of the batsmen do otherwise). His fourth innings average is 32.66, much higher than career average of 23. Yesterday was one occassion where he could have set things right a bit. Similarly he missed out in second test btw Aus and SA in their last test series, allowing Aus to scrape through to a test win.

Ideal combination! hell i think they havea pretty good left arm seamer ... :P who can swing the ball both ways :dontknow: @raghav in newzealand 4th innings is much much easier.. and imo same in south africa (maybe not that easy but easier compared to first day..or easier then 4th innings in india or australia )
rkt.india Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Their strengths neutralize each other.. England's weakness is spin. South African batting is as not as good against quality fast bowling as England. India and SL have mediocre fast bowling attacks and even they exposed their batting. England batting is still better against fast bowlers.

Some poor performances but sample size is too small. Imran is another bowler with a terrible 4th innings average.
