yoda Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 and this There in lies the difference. The one you pointed was a genuine thread based on current event and OP's opinion. The ones I posted were all just spite threads. As long as we can't agree on that, things will continue to be as ugly as this.
Cricket Tragic Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 My advice.. Stop "DEFENDING" players like a self-appointed lawyers.. yes you can express your disagreement and move on. Also respect view point of others. You can go upto a point. Moment you realize it is not worth it. Just move on. Don't be stuck there like a leech. VVS, that is not the problem. Look at the quality of the threads and discussion these days. The forum is filled with trolls. Then you have older members settling scores with each other. How many decent threads are there?

There is just too much of this going on. I don't know what they are trying to prove to themselves or to others.
Prakat Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 One invaluable name comes to mind :winky: :cantstop:
Roshanrocks Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I wonder if this thread will become like one of those Anna Hazare thingies.... lots of commotion...protests...etc... then fizzle out in the end.. with no change in the system...
Needforspeed Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 The real trolling has started only after Sachin's 100th 100. Plus not many India matches going on. Hopefully things will change once the IPL starts.

Prakat Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 haha looking back I've posted alot of nonsense recently. Ill stop now' date=' serious cricket discussions only. Happy?[/quote'] Just relax, that will do a world of good. We're all friends here.
saneindian Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 To start with, ban those who abuse/distort player names. Too many idiots taking far too many liberties, most of it poor attempt at trolling. And lock all these comparison threads for sometime.
Lurker Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 What the **** is happening to this forum? I blame it on the "oh so marvellous ear rings" dangling down Badi B's ears
vvvslaxman Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Why don't you take a bit of your own advice and stop defending players ( usually by hurling inane smilies and putdowns ) whom you have never seen play cricket and doggedly pretend that players like Jack Hobbs have exquisite technique and what have you ? You just proved my point.
shinchan Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Ban all SRT comparision and SRT Retirement threads. :dito:++++
urbestfriend Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Relax, IPL is coming and we need more jokers in the circus :haha:
India-KXIP fan Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Ban all SRT comparision and SRT Retirement threads. Merge into 1 thread comparisons and 1 thread for retirement.
vvvslaxman Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 good that you agree that you need to stop doggedly defending the undefendable without ever having watched any of the players you try to defend. :two_thumbs_up: Whatever helps you sleep :cantstop:
Lurker Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Alright, in all seriousness can YOU (read the posters) do something about this? Start with maybe the following: a) Stop questioning moderation. The MODS do a fabulous job of maintaining a website with 100s of active users. You dont pay them, they take time off their life and work to keep this website clean. Maybe instead of opening a thread every 2nd day questioning xyz about moderation you can perhaps open a single thread once a quarter thanking them for giving all of us a platform where we rewind from daily grind and make new friends? b) Stop asking to ban xyz. If a person crosses the line bring it to the MODS, why act as judge, executioner and the jury?? We have all been there where lines have been crossed. c) Have a sense of humor. And be prepared to receive as much as you diss out? I have done my share of name calling and have been called by names, including by MODS themselves ( :cheer: ) but we had a laugh and moved on. Why take it to heart? Its all banter anyway and doesnt pay your paycheck. Keeps things in perspective. d) Just have a fun about it all. Stop being so serious. :)
Jersey #10 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Start by closing this thread You just proved my point. or banning this ^ troll Just ban outsider.... and or this ^
