Wow wonderful inning that one! Thanks for the video. Also my time to post 'almost' regularily on ICF is coming to an end. I will lurk around though and may post sporadically Today my company is taking me out for a farewell lunch as the next week is my last at work. No one can deny that they kept on batting on the 3rd day just to beat the world record and declared it exactly at 400. Yes it probably didn't matter in the end but that's not the point.[/quote'] There was a touch of selfishness about that innings but Lara did score fast and was not tuk tuking to save his wicket. It is not unusual for teams to bat till lunch on the third day on a good batting wicket.

True West Indies was 595/5 on the end of day 2 at St.Johns in 157 overs India was 650/5 on the end of day 2 at Sydney in 180 overs Second one looks more diabolical considering India had a chance to win the series rather than a dead rubber win.
