Dude, captaincy is much over-rated in T20. The shorter the format gets, the less control the captains have on the game. Plus, he is coming in at the all-important no.3 spot and gently plodding along. Just look at the some of the other no.3s in the tournament Pietersen, Raina (IPL's most prolific bat), Kohli (India's best batsmen right now), Rohit sharma etc. Pune's other batsmen are always under pressure to compensate for his slow scoring.

for all the valid criticism you have made, ganguly this season hasn't scored many runs but whatever he has scored..he hasn't stifled the team..he hasnt put the team under pressure..what has impressed me is his intention to hit right from the beginning rather than poddle arnd and then hit as he used to do in previous iterations. what this has meant is he gets out quickly without scoring much....he hasn't contributed much but it is an exaggeration to say that he is holding the team back... in this pune team...there is no other indian player who can replace ganguly..he is better even at this old age...and his captaincy and sheer presence adds a lot to the team...

See that is the problem - His batting is not good enough score quickly unless he takes extravagent risks, which means the likelihood of him getting out is higher if he tries to. Publicly, I know all the warriors squad/staff are singing Ganguly's praises, but I am sure privately, there will be some exchanged murmurs.

You could not be more wrong. The shorter the game, the more key is the role of the captain. You just have to look at all the previous and this IPLs, clearly which ever team captain has performed poorly have not won the IPL.
