I agree that his decision to open the innings was stupid and probably resulted in the worst Pune performance this year. But let us also remember that in the previous match (KKR) he dropped down then order and what happened ? Pune was 55/5, and then Dada came in and with Mathews nearly managed it. The Pune team is easily the weakest team in this IPL. They were a new franchise last year and even then it was not such a good team. This year Yuvi was also not available. Then Subroto Roy threw a tantrum saying that he was withdrawing from PWI. If he was serious, he should have stuck to that, if not he should have participated in this year's auction and picked some quality players. Now the only thing to do is to rebuild the team by picking up some good players during the next auction.

People like Ravi Shastri and others were for his head even if he failed one match also. With all this people always against him and comming from a place were people and lobbies dose'nt like due to probincialism and performing so well throughout his career. he will always be a Tiger with such a strong heart

That was much selfish and really Ganguly could have learned a thing from Sanga on dropping himself. He could not bat nor field. Also it is not like Ganguly was an excellent captain. He selfishly put himself to bowl over better players. So not only they lost because of his batting, but also his bowling. The whole blame lies on the captain and him alone. As you suddenly do not become from favorites by winning 4 of 6 games to being close to botton of league without reasons.

For now, try out the players on the bench & discard the deadwoods like Nehra/Karthik/Ganguly and may be Uthappa too

There are some Maharashtrian talents in the roster and maybe they need to add a few more. But if they don't rope in quality international talent (who at least play for their national team), they have very little chance. These no-good Uthappas and Pandeys should just be discarded.

Utthappa got a few runs just by tuk-tuking which was of no use. Dinda was in good form, but got injured. Rest were SHYTE anyway. After 10 games, both RR and Pune were at the same position. And now with the replenishments, RR is a much much better team. RR, as a team was as good as Pune, if not better.

Performs once every 6 matches...you're suppose to rely on this guy? plus he's not athletic enough to dive around Marlon Samuels?? apart from 1 or 2 games he has been in horrible form both w/ bat and ball...3 off 8 in one match when we needed the impetus to go for it who else? Nathan McCullum? Callum Ferguson? Tamim Iqbal? Michael Clarke (did well in 1 failed in next 2) Angelo matthews??? great ODI player not so sure abt T20 local talent....Mithun Manhas?? bhuvanesh Kumar?? Ashish Nehra??? BIGGEST FAIL --- UTHAPPA both w/ keeping & bat and he's the highest paid player in the team

If you want to have a rational debate, let me know when you are ready to think logically. Till that, I guess there will not be much to discuss with you. The debate surrounds the question if Pune are performing below the expectations or otherwise. For you it is about the fact that as the team has lost, suddenly the team was poor, there was unrealistic expectations and we are the worst team, blame XYZ blah blahh. While many others clearly know your team just failed despite having a more than decent disposal of players.

Ganguly will be the first one to take responsibility for his team's performance. In this case he made a part to play, but even if all his teammates had sucked ass he will still accept responsibility for their performance. The fans however are only concerned with maintaining his image in pristine condition, elevating him beyond the human, fallible person that he is. After all how can the man they worship just be another normal dude? There's also a sense of protecting bengali interests and Bangla honor in the midst of other Indians, who are always out to bring them down.
