Maybe if he said his decision to rest from India's series against the Saffies in 2008 was the toughest decision of his life, I can sort of undertand.

Atleast 3 or 4 overs.. But that is the entire spell in a T20 game for a bowler which is usually divided into atleast 2 spells. So a grand total of 2 overs per spell.

badmash Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 This is one format where even some blind slogger like pollard can outwit class acts like mike hussey. so yeah, not the best format but it does need some skill You say mike Hussey is class because he is a good odi and test player...who made the rules that Test or Odi is the format to judge a player by? and blind slogging can test out the best of the best bowlers...econ rate of under 7 is normal in a T20...bowlers are put under pressure.. strike rate of 100+ is normal too so batsmen are put under pressure.. fielders are definitely put under pressure.. what more is required from a game of cricket? test match has its own place...but IMO competition is truly displayed in a T20 match

But this is one format in which your ability to swing the ball and bowling at a good length doesnt really count much. and i agree what i am saying is that T20 is more competitive because a "player like bhajji" can change the game...makes it much harder for the opposition.. and all the skills that you learned in tests and odi's you have to apply them in a shorter duration which is a challenge in its self... and bhajji will most likely never score a 50 or a 30 in a T20...he might score a 10 or 15 here and there..but in T20 10 or 15 runs can make a huge difference..so it makes the game extremely competitive its not about "easy" or "hard" ... its about competition and with that comes the required skills...why is dravid an extremely good test player but never got the chance to play in T20's? because he failed to transfer his skills....kohli is able to transfer his skills in the reduced format all the reasons why he is the best out there swing bowling is good in tests and ODI's....In T20's you need swing plus 10 other variations to limit the rate to run a ball T20 is the best display of skills bottom line: tests are the building block of skills...and T20 are the best display of them
