Where did you read the word Dhoni in it? Don't try to look for words that are not even written in the post.
I sense where it was going but fine. Your post was still not in line with the OP.

It's the same for every team. If you can't come out on top based n the rules, too bad. The only thing I didn't like was the pre-seedings so the table toppers don't get to play weaker teams from the other groups. Rest everything was fine.

A simple seedings after qualifying group would have evened out the Super 8s. To have the four weakest teams in one group, and the best four in another is more like Plate group and Elite group arrangement. Goup B also was played on tougher conditions, taking alot out of the teams. I doubt Australia or Pakistan will win.

I am not trying to defend India but we did win four out of five games and failed to qualify. For everything which you say, it is quite harsh. Ganguly - Every game should count. India should have carried points from at least England if not Afghanistan. Does not make much sense to me. Pietersen - It is quite bizarre format to be honest. We found Australia and India struggling to qualify. I think it's some time to relook at the WT20 format in this form of the game. On one hand we have West Indies qualifying while on the other hand we have a team who wins four out of five games and not qualifying.
West indies lost 2 matches and they are in semis. This format is stupid. It is just their because of greed of ICC to schedule Indian matches on prime time.Is it a coincidence that all Indian matches were scheduled at 7:30 Pm and that too on friday, sunday and on Gandhi jayanti

cricket does not need athleticism otherwise we would have never won the WC or reach no 1 in tests.
Yes it does, maybe on subcontinent pitches they are ok (but not good) but not elsewhere. Look at the drubbings they have got in England and Australia. To be a true number one team you have to be successful in all conditions not just the dust bowls of the subcontinent. Fast bowling requires athleticism, there's no doubt about that.

get rid of that pre seed crap plus use head to head instead of NRR to determine which team goes through.
Even if we had taken head-to-head, NRR would still have been used as 3 teams (Aus, Pak & Ind) finished on the same no. of points.

I was looking at the bigger picture. Since the time he showed up we have only gone backwards.
Since the WC, Dhoni is running a one man show. He gets the team he wants, and has his way in the final 11 selection. Guess Fletcher and co are happy with the moollah they are raking in without thinking much worry about the future of the team. This team needs a complete overhaul including a coach who is a tough task master and doesn't tolerate fat lazy superstars like Sehwag or Zaheer or an arrogant leader who has become the prisoner of his own success.

I think astute opposition batsmen were aware of the ball going to Balaji, Zaheer, and Ashwin. It was amazing how the Saffers kept on finding Balaji today, and turning singles into comfortable twos.

In addition, in the Super 8s remember that Group 1 was packed with good teams but Group 2 was with lower ranked teams.
