jairamesh Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 In fact' date=' I would argue at the international level these little things make a huge difference. I am not sure though if India did not know it or did not try - of course in hindsight does not make any difference this.[/quote'] Surely not, I can't let this be excused as hindsight, at International level these bases should be covered. Most sane fans were aware the importance of improving the NRR after the Aus massacre and seeing Yuvraj prodding around for those two to three overs was disappointing considering Kohli was comfortable and we had Raina, Rohit, Dhoni, Pathan, Ashwin, and we were chasing a very low total.
veer Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Watson was in the zone.. veeru kya ukhad leta woh match main agar khelta to.. we would have been in worst situation.. i think biggest problem was Captaincy.. him giving six overs to zak and ashwin was suicide waiting to happen.. you give 3 straight overs to bowlers only if he is picking wickets ... watto and warner both were set by first 3-4 overs.. and hence they tonked 5th n 6th over.. wondering what is happening to Dhoni at times.. getting very inconsistent..

Crookbond Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Bob Simpson along with Alan Border created a very simple policy when they took the reigns in 1986 - not a good fielder, no place in the team. It does not matter how good your skills are or how good a player you are - you HAVE to be a decent fielder. Not Jonty Rhodes but decent fielder - I think India is getting there but we still have a couple of liabilities in Balaji and Zaheer Khan. For example, Umesh Yadav is a very good fielder despite being a fast bowler. We are slowly weeding out the folks who are slow-movers in the field. It is a gradual change.
veer Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 And what happened to our six hitting ability?? i think we scored the least number of 6s out of all super 8 teams.. Gauti gotta go from 20/20 and stick to ODIs.. Rahane should be playing as opener.. but it's too late now.

FTR, I am not asking for that oversight - if there was any - to be excused.
panther Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Lions will win the world T20 my sources told me
veer Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 to me hes been very consistent:--D nah.. pak and england games were really good. Made right changes at the right time..
Crookbond Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 wats bad with his form? For the situation, he's played exactly how he has been playing in the recent T20Is. In fact, he exceeded expectations. No code has to be inserted here.
NareshK Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Watson was in the zone.. veeru kya ukhad leta woh match main agar khelta to.. we would have been in worst situation.. i think biggest problem was Captaincy.. him giving six overs to zak and ashwin was suicide waiting to happen.. you give 3 straight overs to bowlers only if he is picking wickets ... watto and warner both were set by first 3-4 overs.. and hence they tonked 5th n 6th over.. wondering what is happening to Dhoni at times.. getting very inconsistent.. Even today, there was bad captaincy. On a pitch which was gripping and not coming on to bat, he selected 3 seamers and left out Bhajji. Even Chawla would have been good against Saffers. Also, he didnt bring on Ashwin till 9th over and instead brings on Rohit when the need is to pick wickets. Its good they won the game and also won the games against Eng and Pak, but have to say some of the captaincy decisions were poor. Also, batting at the top - Sehwag and Gambhir were poor. Zak and Irfan are not good enough in T20. They have to give way to bowlers who are specialists for this format and can bowl yorkers, slower balls, variations consistently. Its amazing they have played 5 IPLs and havent been able to find a couple of bowlers who can do this.
gult Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Bad genetics bullshit.. raina and kohli are Indians too. It's just that Indians care moslyt about batting skills and everything else becomes secondary

No code has to be inserted here. war exceeded expectations, hes our best T20 player after UV.those r pretty good numbers for T20s wen u consider the situations hes been batting in
veer Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 ^^ I dont mind pathan at all.. he is been picking up wickets.. and can bat..so he is a good all rounder.. we need two other specialist fast bowler.. zak should retire from 20/20..
veer Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 war exceeded expectations' date='hes our best T20 player after UV.those r pretty good numbers for T20s wen u consider the situations hes been batting in[/quote'] IMO, Raina is coming too late.. he is either in rescue mission or he gets only 1 over to do any talking..
gult Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 He meant Samit Patel I guess :cantstop: :haha::haha: At least, he was mentally fit enough (unlike some random English spinner whose name I can't recall) to face spinners the other day and save England some pride
