Texy Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Great point' date=' it's a tad x100 times serious in out part of the world, it will take long time to change that attitude, especially when TV channels get melodramatic[/quote'] Perhaps the aussie crowd that watches cricket is slightly more matured and aged as compared to their rugby fans? For the subcontinent, since cricket is pretty much the only competitive sport people follow, you tend to find more young/emotional crowd although with the advent of IPL...things have changed...people are not as much emotional as they used to be during jobless 90's.
Crookbond Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Even in the 80's hardly any Aussies felt sad being hammered by them (WI)' date=' we have always loved their attacking merry cricket style, even when getting our asses handed to us, because its so damn entertaining to watch. SALUTE![/quote'] I kind of agree with you - Australians do love great sport and they love to see great sportsmen in action like Federer, Tendulkar or Schumacher. However, I think that there are a few *****s every here and there be it Australia, India or USA.
thongale Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 FTR' date=' Warner would do good not to mess up with Samuels or Pollard. They might make mince meat of this fellow.[/quote']Having said tthat Warner and Watson aren't slouches as well.
Crookbond Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Having said tthat Warner and Watson aren't slouches as well. You DO NOT mess with a Jamaican let alone a Jamaican of Samuels stature - slouch or not.
thongale Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 For ordinary mortals like you an me, yes. But if you have seen Shane Watson live, you would change your mind. This fella is a man mountain.
thongale Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 aur uthao gayle ke room se ladkiyan...waha tharak poori kar leta' date=' toh aaj ground pe ye live porn toh nahi chalti :D[/quote']Translation please

Tiger80 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I think no matter if it was India or Pak not able to qualify, no question left for them to "take it or not" and justification for crying over it when qualification rules are declared before start and are same for every team. If 3 teams ends-up with same points, 2 with better NRR were to qualify, as simple as that. Even going with your or most of indians logic "since Ind beat Pak so Ind as a better team should have qualified ahead of Pak" makes Absolutly No Sense because if India won vs Pak, Pak won vs AUS, NOW? How can Pak then accept AUS going into semis when they won convincingly against them. and by the way even if head-to-head results were given preference ahead of NRR, still AUS/Pak were qualifying bcz 3 teams AUS/Pak/Ind were at same points and still NRR had to come into play. You are giving teda meda answer to my question I am not saying that India should had qualified but I do believe that India played better than Pakistan. The convincing victory against Australia was because Australia was not playing for win after few wickets fell .Just Imagine if SA had defeated Australia on Sunday then Australia would had been going for win. I do believe that whether ODI or T20 the real test of all team will be if they all play each other and best 4 will qualify
kubrickian Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Warner was also sledging Indian batsmen during their game.
Crookbond Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 For ordinary mortals like you an me' date=' yes. But if you have seen Shane Watson live, you would change your mind. This fella is a man mountain.[/quote'] Well, probably - but if you see that video Sammy just asked Watson to eff off from the scene. I liked that. :--D
Tridibans_16 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Warner was also sledging Indian batsmen during their game. Loved what Nasser said about this numbnut "Glad that WI put this chirpy Warner back to his place" (something similar)
Crookbond Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 UG - The mods have merged your thread on Umar Akmal asking for a helmet so can not find it. Check this out for your answer. Umar fined for 'offensive' snub Umar admitted a level two breach of the International Cricket Council code at the Premadasa Stadium last night - for "conduct contrary to the spirit of the game". He changed his gloves in the 17th over of Pakistan's innings having ignored umpires Rod Tucker and Simon Taufel's request not to do so at that stage. ICC match referee Jeff Crowe said: "Respect for the umpires is integral and is something we always emphasise and encourage. "In this incident, Umar showed blatant disregard to both the umpires' requests - which was offensive and unacceptable from an international cricketer and contrary to our unique spirit." Pakistan lost by 16 runs in Colombo as hosts Sri Lanka progressed through to the final. http://www.espnstar.com/cricket/icc-world-t20/news/detail/item868259/Umar-fined-for-'offensive'-snub/
thongale Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Well' date=' probably - but if you see that video Sammy just asked Watson to eff off from the scene. I liked that. :--D[/quote']I like that too. Little man Sarwan asking about McGrath's wife's health was the ATG one for me.:--D
Crookbond Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Translation please What was the need to pick up girls from Gayle's room? The porn would have been confined to his hotel room rather than the cricket ground (referring to Gayle playing that innings).
vvvslaxman Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Seriously it was amazing to see them carry a hack like Imran Nazir in the team. Afridi one ball wonder. Essentially they played with 9 batsmen.
Ultimate_Game Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 You're almost there. Well if you want to believe all matches are equal and that a Pak-WI or a Ind-NZ game is same as an Ind-Pak game so be it.
