i would not read too much into the figures. the next three WC's are in the subcontinent and within the sub india always have a chance IMO to do well. We for some reason have never done well in WI and England (baring 1983) in the last 20 years. For some reason we do well in south africa 2003 WC final and 2007 win.

hmm we play all out matches at the premadasa. Which is a good thing as the remaining two grounds are very much pace friendly surfaces.

we are not underdogs but we are not exactly favourites either. Looking at the way sri lanka dismissed WI (who i personally thought would be a force in this tournament) I think they will start off as favourites. Ashwin would do well to avoid the media and not make any statements, especially after his t20 figures.

they are different figures Ashwin's individual figures. While India's figures outside the WC. No doubt we have been abysmal in the T20s in the WC in the span post. But its the first WC in the sub where we have a good record. I would say individual figures matter even outside the WC as you need to go into the WC with people who have some track record in the format. @trans while gayle may not be playing. Sl did handle Narine and Badree well. It was a crushing win.
