Still early days but PWI bowling attack appears to be the most balanced and potent... We need to see how the PWI batsmen go about chasing a score. They're very good in defending a score...

5 Days have gone, we might a fair idea about the teams. Here's my thought Kings XI Punjab- Probably the only way they will win any match is by a one-off individual performances. Such as a great innings by Gilly, or the likes of Valtharty(insert name) KKR- Have good squad depth but lack any composure and have always shown to crumble under pressure. Again rely on individual brilliance from their impact players at least in batting. Pune- Great spin bowlers, good captain. But lacks the firepower at opening batting. Mumbai Indians- Good all round team, with the best bowling unit. But lacks a bit of stability with their batting order. DC- Arguably the weakest batting team in this IPL. But can be provided with early breakthrough with Steyn. RR- Never good on paper but properly the best functional team with each person having a specific role instead of having star players. Home Comfort CSK- Past winners. Have a good number of players who can bat and bowl. But the lack of form of their Indian batsman is a concern. DD- Looks good on paper and have good batting lineup. But a lack of spinners and slower bowlers is a major problem. RCB- AVB+ VK+CG are in form players. Have good legends as their spin bowlers. However concern to their other batsman such as Tiwary and Pujara have yet to show much.
weakest team on paper: Punjab, Deccan.... balanced team:Pune(Ganguly the batsman is the weaklink, replace Dada with Yuvi and see the difference), Rajasthan DD(dark horses) rockstar teams: RCb, MI, CSK, KKR

pune's weakness is dada and his opening partner. dada is clearly past his hey days...but still love his captaincy. ryder looks unfit. tamim..he just doesnt have that presence.. feels like a ranji player to me. angelo mathews in place of ryder or fergusson would be awesome. i ud prefer replacing ryder if mathes can bowl. another all rounder ..bcos fergusson though he has failed, looks a very explosive batsman. all in all this team looks good even though they dont have any bignames.. but they will suck ass when clarke replaces samuels...

Weakest on paper has got to be RR. (First match against Punjab, still the favorites were Punjab) And define rockstar, is it just big money players?
Mumbai - Chokers
That title belongs to KKR

DD's negative point - captain with careless attitude... hota hai chalta hai... DD is never going to win under veeru's captaincy..

RR team looks better on paper than Punjab..they seem to have a balance about their team..although they miss many big name players.

Let's add a clear weakness for Deccan- terrible fielding. They need to improve fielding or else they will always give crucial extra runs

:mi: another strength ' date=' they can bully umpires :--D[/quote'] From next match umpires will ask Bhajji first...or else when he is not nowling bhajji can stand in as. square leg umpire and when bowling act as main umpire :yay: Harr harr Mahadev

KKR's weakness: shahrukhkhan smoking..causing the players to become passive smokers and poor health during match situations
KKRs biggest weekness its neighbour of Bangladesh

Pujara role has definitely confused me. Clearly not good to fit the powerful middle order as ultimately he does not offer much firepower especially in the last overs.
Its not always about firepower. Its the 50's and higher scores(equal to 100's in longer forms) from a batsman that do a lot of damage. i am not as concerned about a pollard who may succeed 3 times out of 10 and get quick 30/40 as much as a tendulkar who really sets it up for the MI time and again with those big 50's. Pujara as the more seasoned and technically correct player who has shown a hunger for staying at the crease, is obviously expected to score those consistent 50's.but right now he is not experienced enough to be as consistent as say kallis or tendulkar or gayle. he can play anchor and provide solidity.others can play around him but times have changed. these days you are expected to have offensive capabailities as well. pujara has shown some offensive capabilties that he can develop further. last year RCB too often lost mayank upfront and hence they wanted to address that. mayank as the inexperienced guy is more likely to do something stupid (as he did last match) Pujara, tiwary, mayank cannot be compared to established players like dilshan or gayle. they are developing players who are growing up and have some way to go before becoming mature players.

MI does not have any weakness' date=' cup is ours[/quote'] +1 maybe chasing is a bit weak, if we bat first we are unbeatable, with the bowling line up MI have :two_thumbs_up::hatsoff:

Yes, MI is super strong just look how many times MI have won the IPL. Oops, it is only zero. :haha: But of course you have that extra edge with your bullying of umpires.

CSK - Strategy. Always leave things for the end and never utilize all their big hitters. Dhoni hides behind other players. Bowling is weak unless its a spinning track. MI - Batting goes to dogs unless one of Sachin, Nohit or Pollard gets a big score.
