Asking Kohli to bowl was not a bad idea at that time, Kohli went for 8 runs of his only over , but bhatkal gave away 35 runs in his 2 overs. Its a nobrained and he went for Kohli. But but he should have kept main bowlers for the death.

i always felt foreign captain can never do good in ipl because only an indian captain would know well about his player he could have all the time in the world to talk and observe them and know their batting stregth and weakness only two foreign captains have done well in ipl ie shane & gilly both are retired would have had time to know their players well

I also prefer the tactic of bowling your best bowler the penultimate over :agree: Reminds me of a street match, back in my childhood. We had 25 runs to defend with two overs to go and I tossed the ball to a stupid tammy. F'ker gave away 24 runs and Zelig had to defend 1 run in the last over of the match. We had to settle for a tie  I abused that guy's didi after the match
:dc: vs :mi: match. Steyn bowled a great 19th over but Christian runied it. :acute:

http://blogs.espncricinfo.com/haveyoursay/ Did RCB blunder and lose the game? April 12, 2012 No, Albie Morkel's blitz was freak innings With 43 needed off 12 balls, no one would have given Chennai Super Kings a chance, especially with a brand new batsman at the crease. Give credit to Albie Morkel, who was sensational in ransacking 28 runs off his first six deliveries. Comments Posted by: Shyam Nath 2 hours, 19 minutes ago Who cares... .The true Champions Won... It would have actually been worse for RCB. It was Vinay Kumar's second beamer above the waist and should've been called off from bowling. The CSK camp was vociferously signaling this.

I am glad better sense prevailed. :winky:

The reason he didn't bring Kohli early was coz of MSD. Dan gambled - Albie not in good form' date=' Bravo not blazing either - and it back fired.[/quote'] + 1 Dhoni was the deal breaker here.

But they could have played Mithun instead of Bhatkal. Would not have gone for 35 in 2 overs.
exactly..or else they should have played Patel himself or Mithun or even Arvind and replace Pujara with Bhatkal , kaif etc

His decision to bowl Kohli in the death was akin to Dhoni using Raina in the death in international matches :wall:
