Dravid_TheWall Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I think Dravid has got the batting order completely wrong. The best players should bat higher up, not come in at the end! Should be Dravid, Rahane, Shah, Hodge, Menaria, Botha, Goswami at 7 Bowling is a major worry with too many substandard bowlers like Chavan, Trivedi and Singh. Problem is Watson hasn't arrived and hard to fit Tait in with the batting being dependent on the overseas players. If we are to do anything this season, a lot depends on Santh coming back from injury. I strongly believe we must pair Tait and Santh to have 2 world class seamers. Teams have Malinga, Steyn Morkel e.t.c and our star seamers are not getting games, we are instead playing club indian bowlers.
Number Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Definitely need Shaun Tait and ,yes .. for Rajasthan Royals, Sreesanth can play.
GautiMaan Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 When will Santh be fit?in time for closing ceremony dance?
Yoda-esque Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 When will Santh be fit?in time for closing ceremony dance? :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
lameduck Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I wanna see how Dinesh Chandimal would do in this competition. He was the man of the tournament in the SL t20 league. Definitely much better than Goswami. But only 4 foreigners allowed. one bowler may hv to go.
saneindian Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 A thread aimed at promoting Sreesanth who is yet to start bowling in the RR nets. Their problem today was batting in the last 5 overs, they scored just 30 runs, another 10-12 runs and they could have won. As for the bowling part, Amit Singh has figures of 1/26, 2/30, 2/29 and 1/29 in 4 matches. Trivedi has also bowled decently and today was the first time, he struggled. No chance of Santh getting in even if he was available. BTW take a look at the IPL records of the three bowlers Sreesanth 35 wickets@30, economy rate of 8.2 Sid Trivedi 43 wickets@27, economy rate of 7.9 Amit Sing 23 wickets@17, economy ate of 6.6 Worst of the lot replacing two better bowlers, that too not having played any form of cricket in last 4-5 months?
Dravid_TheWall Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 When will Santh be fit?in time for closing ceremony dance? That was funny :hysterical: He has been helping the team behind the scenes, but likes of Trivedi, Singh can't pick up the mastery of the master of swing and seam :two_thumbs_up: Also these useless seamers are not even sledging, getting under the batsmen's skin, Trivedi looked defeated as the commentators said. RR's and India's poster boy is needed on the pitch now too!

Dravid will surely give him a run at some point. 12 more matches to go, teams are still figuring out what their best 11 is.

Lack of decent indian players :sniffle: Dravid should be wicket keeper and bring in an extra bowler/batsman. Need all the support we can get.

Trivedi and Amit singh can't bowl well when the pressure is on and will fizzle as the tournament goes on. It is ok to have one of them but they need someone class from the other end, like Tait or Santh. Or they will both be played easily according to match situation. Only you are silly enough to think Santh can't get into RR team :cantstop: He was our star signing and the guy has more medals, trophies and achievements than most bowlers, he is regarded as one of the most talented by legends like Donald.

Indeed. I hate watching Trivedi and Singh bowl, but you cannot really argue with the performances, especially Singh's.

Sid Trivedi and Amit Singh are IPL winners, wonder what Sree has won in the IPL except for a few slaps from Bhajji :--D And lets not even talk of Sree bowling under pressure in the IPL.

ganeshran Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 As long as the joker doesnt play, RR will do well

saneindian Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 DTW ignored the most important part in my post, Sreesanth is yet to start bowling in the nets. Tried to roll his arm over a few times, felt some discomfort. RR should ideally declare him an injured player and ask for a replacement :P
Dravid_TheWall Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 Answer me this. How do you explain or account for his terrible performances in previous IPL seasons? He bowled well for Kochi before Marsh rested him to play slower bowlers for the typical pitches. Jayawardene didn't agree.
