bulbul Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 why do we have so many watch threads scattered all over the place ? :wall: better to have Two watch threads i.e Indian and Foreign Players . i agree with Mod saab
diga Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Christian and White are 3rd rate players..... Lehman is little better than a high shcool cricket cocach! they dont belong on this thread at least players like S Smith, Hodge, Bollinger, Hogg have all won matches for their sides as compared to the trio on the DC side they snatched matches form the jaws of defeat to be fair to Lehmann,he won the Shield (4day ) with Queensland this season
daryl1985 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Dan Christian is the king of these 2nd rate Aussies. He bowls pies at the death and his hitting is very overrated.
The Realist Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Apparently the only thing Lehmann is good for is clearing out hotel buffets… Pick unknown Aussies as coaches and result is a motley collection of unknowns and deadbeats as players/hangers-on/backroom staff/cooks/cleaners/drunks/party-goers etc…. Pathetic and it all means is crowding out better international players and domsecto talents. And to top it all off Ind have appointed some random unknown as bowling coach, seriously show me the credentials
jairamesh Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 Please tell the name of better bowlers than these 5 who are not playing in IPL from other countries. Philander, Tsotsobe, Anderson, Swann, Finn Not forgetting, Gul, Afridi, Ajmal, Rehman (but there absence is due to extenuating circumstances)
Zelig Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 You call Hodge, Hogg, Bolly, Gilly, Dussey, Smith, Harris, Hopes second rate?

Now many of these better players are warming the benches, and see crap like Cameron White play game after game.

A lot of it has got to do with the Aussie and Saffie coaches employed by the franchises. It was sad to see Finch/Maxwell play ahead of Andre Russell
Executioner Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 and to add to that guys like finn, dernbach who arent playing
jairamesh Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 and to add to that guys like finn' date=' [b']dernbach who arent playing Well let's not get ahead ourselves too much. :giggle:
Zelig Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 and to add to that guys like finn' date=' dernbach who arent playing[/quote'] Dernbach has got to be one of the most over rated bowlers in last few years. The guy was pasted all around the ground in BBL. He was so poor that he was dropped from the Melb Stars XI and was sent home :giggle:
kidnextdoor Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 to be fair to Lehmann' date='he won the Shield (4day ) with Queensland this season[/quote'] umm that might be true... but here are the facts about his tenure at IPL 1st season Warne brought him to RR, where he played a few matches then became the "coach", and anyone who knows anything about IPL knows it was Warne that made that team a Championship team 2nd season yeah DC won the cup under him but the truth is with the team he had to work with even I could have won the title.... and it should be noted that DC were 8-8 in the round robin just barely making it to the playoffs.... with Gillys innings in the semis no other team could have won and the finals with the performance of the batting DC would have lost 99 out of 100 times it was 100% pure luck that DC won the finals 4th season Auction.... who the hell would pay nearly a million dollars for an uncapped player....(Dan Christian, he did have 2 international t20's) didn't get any players on the Indian team! why in the world did White play ahead of JP Duminy in first 3/4 games last season and the first 2 games this season And even when JP Duminy plays why is he batting below Christian or White when it is very very clear that he is in form... Lehman is worth less than a stinking bag of dog **** on fire
Naaz-neesh Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 best xi not in involved in ipl 2012 hafeez, amla, guptill, umar akmal, kieswetter, afridi, swann, ajmal, philander, gul, finn true, too many sucky australian players involved.

You are stupid if you believe he deserves no credit.
IKnowU Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Maybe if they didnt have the shityy auction more players from other countries and regions can be exposed and utilised. Half the reason there are so many aussies in the squad is because they are picked on reputation of being a aussie which automatically suggests they are decent fielders and have decent fitness and can do above average in whatever they specialise in.

Given that Bollinger has done well for CSK and really can't be said that he is a second rate player.... But the problem for me seems to be that fringe players from other countries don't seem to be enjoying the same amount liberty... Coaches like Lehman go out of their way to get unproven, overrated Aussie players at auctions for astronomically high prices.... Also they are given precedence over proven international players like in the case of JP Duminy where 3 2nd class players were selected before him in the first 2 matches for DC.... and even when he gets a chance he bats at a lower position than them...... My solution to this is every team should have a General Manager and Coach with their duties being completely separate from each other....... Everyone can learn a little from Vijay Malaya, the guy has little or no experince with cricket but still was able to select a much better team than other coaches at the Auction.....
