Viru is a non stop bullet train.. Gayle sometimes pauses in between. Also Viru is effortless even on a spinning track against spinners.

At present Ross Taylor is equally bad .Infact put up one of the worst display for his side.
just see the bowling.... DD defended 12 runs from last 2 overs we all know how RCB defended 43 runs... Looks like this debate goes in same lines of Sachin vs Bradman.. Time to see BB's posts

So it is your captain's fault that he gave Virat kohli 19th over. Zaheer >Umesh yadav V.K > Irfan Morkel >> Vettori Actually there is not much difference between DD and RCB. It is just that Sehwag and Morkel are smashing opponents.

Yes i watch match brah that is why i made this thread. What Gayle does is that he scores nothing till 10th over and team score is 65. And he goes beserk after 10 th over. And what Sehwag does is he starts scoring from first ball itself so that by 14th over score is 130 instead of 90 which is RCB usual score. Had it not been for Deviliers Gayle would have cost RCB match against PWI too ( Nehra 23 runs )

If you talking about just this IPL season your argument stands valid but when we consider overall stats (T20Is and Domestic T20s), Gayle is light years ahead of Viru. Sehwag T20Is 16 15 0 340 68 22.66 223 152.46 0 2 37 15 1 0 Twenty20 92 91 5 2571 119 29.89 1611 159.59 1 18 307 102 23 0 Gayle T20Is 20 20 1 617 117 32.47 427 144.49 1 5 57 34 5 0 Twenty20 101 99 12 3644 117 41.88 2354 154.80 7 24 296 251 26 0
Agree, Gayle is the best 20-20 bat ever. Did not realize he has 7 centuries in 20-20. He is such a joy to watch. Something about his batting in this format you cannot put a finger on, but it is mesmerizing. I would have bet on Gilly too another natural for this format if only we can turn the clock back by 10 years.

just think then why Gayle has to play sensibly in first 10 overs...then you will know everything about both teams.. Hope you watched IPL last year also after Gayles entry.. End of day i dont care who is better...wont make any difference...i am ready to agree Sehwag is better...but if you see from team perspective which team defended on a single player most or how a single players performance affect team much i doubt no arguments there...its Gayle..

Do you know last year DD were ranked 10th. Yes 10 out of 10. And Sehwag played around 8 matches if i remember. And they won 4 of those in which 3 he had direct impact. Fact is DD rise to top ranking has more to do with Sehwag and Morkel. So don't bring this weak team theory because RCB was finalist last year and DD were 10th. I still feel Gayle should start attacking from 3rd over if not 1st. He leaves too much for the end.

Sehwag wouldn't have survived yesterday's spell of PK, the way ball was swinging. Sehwag would have had thrown the bat on every ball and either had caught behind or catch in the outfield.

RCB finalist last year because of Gayle...he also played around 10 matches in group games.. how ever you cry foul..Gayle have more impact on team than Sehwag....

I doubt Gayle has ability to play on mine field knocks like this http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2011/engine/current/match/501233.html

Who is crying foul ? Perhaps you missed entire last year IPL and DD dependence on Sehwag.

Sehwag struggles when ball swings or seams a bit which was happening yesterday. The problem with RCB yesterday was not first 6 overs. They did well negotiate them as PK was making the ball talk, but the last 5 overs after Gayle got out. They were 126 in 15 overs, should have scored at least 50 in last 5 overs.

I fully agree Sehwag struggles against swing but against Hilfenaus, Pattinson or Anderson. Not against trundlers like PK, VK or Pathan.

Sehwag would have done that and then lost his wicket in that process. He got out first ball against Styen on a non-seaming wicket.

Wow just wow. :cantstop: And you missed 119 he scored last year. He couldn't take wicket because he was crap. I bet Steyn, Pattinson, Anderson would have taken atleast 2 wickets. PK pace is too slow to cause anyone harm. He needs to be 130+ to cause difficulty to batsmen.
