Robelinda : come and reply The only ftb is Ponting, Gilchrist , Steve waugh who don't even average 40 on the road of Sub-continent :haha::haha::hysterical::hysterical: This guy has made a habit of attacking Indian cricketers. Over-rated Australian idols. :haha::haha:

Feeling insecure Sehwag? :cantstop:
Yes just like insecure Robelinda felt after uploading videos of Sehwag.:haha::haha: And the funny thing is he blocked me after i showed him the average of Gilchrist , Ponting, Waugh in Asia.:hysterical: So now i have to resort to this. Let's see if he has courage to respond here.

Not commenting about Ponting and Waugh. Sehwag - Hopeless against swing and badly lacks the application to do well in England, South Africa and New Zealand. I believe he could have done better abroad if he showed more grit and determination. Sehwag in the Subcontinent - The greatest of all time bar none.

Not grit and determination. His ego. Gavaskar advised him that for an opener to be successful outside sub-continent he has to play the first session of the test without no risk i.e. even 20 to 30 runs after 1st session will do. Considering the ego of Sehwag , do you expect him to play 5 to 6 consecutive maidens ?

I dont think that is the case. It is more like being careless.Otherwise, he used to do well abroad before in his early years. He had 100s at most places abroad.

^^ (to both of the guys above) I agree, it is partly his ego and the fact that he is careless but he needs to show more patience. I just think he lacks patience because he is used to smashing bowlers in the S/C. I definitely believe he is vulnerable (went OTT in saying hopeless) to swing though. His lack of foot movement make it tougher for him to negate the swinging ball. If i remember rightly, Hoggard caused him a few problems. Sehwag is the player who pleases me the most in the subcontinent but i wish he would tough it out a bit more in foreign conditions and show the bowlers more respect. I think he had the potential to be greater than he has turned out to be.

^^^ How Sehwag will be regarded will be determined by the coming home tour of NZ, ENG, OZ. If he plays a crucial role in winning all the 3 series and India regaining no.1 rankings and they will if they win all 3 by margin of 1-0,2-0 and 2-0. However if he fails in those, he will remembered as a very good player who had his moments. Neither great nor ATG. At present he is just great.

Agree. At one point i thought it would be inevitable that he would overtake Dravid and become the 3rd greatest Indian batsman of all time (After Sachin and SG) but now i think that at best, he will be on Dravid's level.

^^^ A lot also depends upon SA tour of ENG. If SA beat ENG , then i think it will be very difficult to take no.1 position from them because unlike IND/ENG , they are capable of playing everywhere.

He had showed that he can play in swinging and seaming conditions. Scored 2 hundreds in NZ where teams were struggling to score 100 runs. Century on debut in SA, test century in Eng and great performance in Australia. He was doing well everywhere initially. Earlier he was more careful and had lower strike rate. Now he has become careless and his strike rate has increased.

That average includes places like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The issue with Sehwag is his average in England and South Africa (his average is also poor in New Zealand).

^^^^ Put it this way If an ATXI team is formed and match is to be played in sub-continent . Will Sehwag be in that team ? definitely yes. Will ponting be in that team ? definitely no Similarly if an ATXI team is formed and match is to be played outside sub-continent . Will Sehwag be in that team ? definitely no. Will ponting be in that team ? yes. So it is equal case for both.
