Sachin=GOD Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 So lets see all that has happened in the Tamasha in the last few days: there's a sting operation which shows players involved in spot fixing and underhand financial dealings. SRK abuses and misbehaves with the officials and security people at a ground. Luke Pomersbach allegedly molested a girl and manhandled her fiancee. Siddhartha Mallaya abuses a journalist and questions the character of the victim. and when someone questions the tamasha then the only thing the IPL fanboys have to say is " pot calling the kettle black " or "wtf this guy seems totally pissed at ipl... nobody invited him to ipl or what? Has been quite vocal after the sting operation incident."... they still don't want to accept that anything is wrong with this tournament :(

Its not like all these hasnt happened in tests and ODIs.

rkt.india Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Crime happens anyway' date=' SRK is in controversies anyway, match fixing has been happening for decades.[/quote'] Match fixing is most prominent in football which is played in 200 countries. At least in 25 countries match fixing probes are going on. Lets ban football and why not ban even cricket because of match fixing.

rkt.india Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 but atleast we have to do a probe against cricket in our country :dontknow: But first they need to have evidence of fixing and probe is going on by Ravi Savani, police officer, 5 cricketers banned already.

rkt.india Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 same case for other sports also...Investigation starts mainly because of acusations intiallyy.. They too have started investigation.
bulbul Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 They too have started investigation. Trusting BCCI is bit difficukt
rkt.india Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Trusting BCCI is bit difficukt Why? This is not the first time. Didnt they ban Azhar, Jadeja, etc. even without proper evidence against them?
someone Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 IPL today, is simply a way to raise your profile. Either do something good in it, or say something bad about it. In both ways, media are going to ask for interviews for you and make you world famous.
asterix Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I think there's one more thing.. While listening to Kirti's rant I guessed there's lot's heartburn too. He and many other retired players were toast of the nation when they won the first WC in 1983. In recent years, Indian team has done very well and even won the WC. The IPL is there where even uncapped players are earning good money.. I feel there's some hidden heartburn too in these stars of yesteryears..

Kirti Azad had formed the Bihar Cricket Association which was a rival to a similar association led by Lalu. Both are still fighting with the BCCI for a recognition and Kirti for sure is taking his frustration out targetting the BCCI on every possible issue. if he was genuinely working for the good of our cricket, he would have got lot more support but his rants obviously have a personal agenda.
Precambrian Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 good stuff.. the poor will stand to benefit that extra food and kirti will stand to lose a bit of that flab

What is the conclusive proof that a match was fixed in the IPL? As someone said, if someone spot fixed a random match in the gully cricket, it cannot be automatic proof that IPL is suddenly fixed, is it? The last 3 can happen anywhere in any tournament. We FFS had a coach killed during a tournament, didn't mean the tournment was to be blamed or no calls were made for it to be banned, totally irrational reasons to call for IPL's head really. coming this from a guy who might have probably devoted a max of 7-10 hrs for IPL this entire season.

There has been one controversy after the other right from the start of the 1st edition and there have been quite a few instances of wrongdoing as well - remember Kochi Tuskars?? or the financial irregularities done by Lalit Modi?? Sure, every tournament in every sport has had a few controversies but IPL has taken it to a whole new level. You see any aspect of this tournament and you will see controversy/conflict of interest/instances of wrongdoing.
