Sure, every tournament in every sport has had a few controversies but IPL has taken it to a whole new level. You see any aspect of this tournament and you will see controversy/conflict of interest/instances of wrongdoing.
Dude, stop the BS. You know that you are being in-genuine here. Seriously, a player getting into a bar fight is IPL's fault? Are you really going to stoop that low? A no name player claiming that he spot fixes in a non-IPL game is IPL's fault? Really? An owner getting into scuffle with the ground staff is IPL's fault? Really? As others have explained, a coach has been murdered during an ICC event, players have sold their country in National games, players representing the country have gotten into bar fights, all in cricket unrelated to the IPL. I know you are burning inside that this so called Tamasha league is very successful and too many people are having a good time enjoying it. It ok, just suck it up and GTFU!

make that 7-10 minutes and even that would be too much :winky: you're talking as if this is the 1st time anything dubious has happened in this tournament. There has been one controversy after the other right from the start of the 1st edition and there have been quite a few instances of wrongdoing as well - remember Kochi Tuskars?? or the financial irregularities done by Lalit Modi?? Blaming IPL for all controversies related to it , is like blaming Sachin's 100 for team's loss. :--D

What is the dubious thing about Kochi Tuskers? They failed to remit their guarantee amounts and was bound to default on player salaries at which point BCCI took control. A failed franchise would've been a big blow for IPL. We have nations like Sri Lanka who default on salaries to contracted players - imagine! And are we calling for SL to be removed from test cricket? The cricket board there is virtually run by the government, their cricket committees have been banded and disbanded more frequently than Ind-SL ODIs. Yet I haven't heard one word from anybody asking for SL to be suspended by ICC? Heck, their stadiums are now controlled by their Army for lack of money. You asked which other tourney attracts so many controversies - well let me ask you - which other tournament happens every single year involving so much public equity in the world? By the term public equity, I mean, eyeballs, attention, following, and of course money. Naturally even the smallest of incidents will be blown up beyond proportions. I don't have much time for this tournament tbh. But the kind of criticisms it copes beggars belief. An incident like a C grade Aussie player attempting rape on a foreign national in his bedroom has bloody nothing to do with IPL. He'd have attempted that had Australia been touring India, or heck had he been touring on his own, right?

Pomersbach has a history of involving in such ugly incidents before too. He is an alcoholic. He was banned by CA for a year and I think was also termed jail in an accident case while driving drunk. Both he and Shaun Marsh were buddies and avid alcoholic, but Marsh realized and give up alcohol while he still continues.

I would've supported the idea if KA raised the issue of increasing crime rate in Delhi.. This is a farce and will :fail: BJP might end up alienating youth.. If they ar serious about doing something better for cricket, why not Arun Jaitley resigns from DDCA?
