Roshanrocks Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 he did say that it would depend upon finding a good opener to partner Rahane, If at all they donot find anyone he might play next year.
Sidhoni Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I do not think there is much chance he will play next year :((
rkt.india Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 he did say that it would depend upon finding a good opener to partner Rahane' date=' If at all they donot find anyone he might play next year.[/quote'] They already have a good opener in Brad Hodge.
JourneyMan Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Lots of respect for this guy. Classy cricketer, classy personality. Knows that he can't stick around for too long, prefers to leave on a good note. It was a pleasure watching him at the IPL, as always.
Sidhoni Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 They already have a good opener in Brad Hodge. When the commentators were talking to Dravid on the mic, he said the team management is looking for a young Indian opener along with Rahane.
Needforspeed Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Is there going to be a totally fresh auction next year or only to fill the vacancies? Any idea anyone?
Sidhoni Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Is there going to be a totally fresh auction next year or only to fill the vacancies? Any idea anyone? No fresh auction. A fresh auction is there after every 3 years. It was there in 2008, in 2011, and now will be in 2014
Stuge Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 He needs to go to IMO .Even though though he is 100X times better than ganguly in T20 ,but most of these old players are plagued with same problem i.e unable to increase the tempo of the game when required .
ganeshran Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Hope Royals get a better opener next time. A 25 ball 28 is not going to hurt any opposition in T20. Their middle order is strong with Shah and Hodge. All they need is a better opener and a good batsman in the lower middle order, and they can reach the playoffs next year.
Number Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Even Watto can open. Not sure about his availability though. And RD has done a fine job as Captain+Opener IMO. :nice:
J P K Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 he can be their batting coach for RR RAHANE would learn a lot from him
JourneyMan Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 he can be their batting coach for RR RAHANE would learn a lot from him And fielding coach too!
yoda Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 He did well, too bad the team couldn't win a few more games to reach the playoffs. They obviously over-achieved given the players they had.
Magneto Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 DC will sell Shikhar Dhawan to RR next year and everything will be okay.
JourneyMan Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 DC will sell Shikhar Dhawan to RR next year and everything will be okay. Shup shup bolo. DC can't afford to lose their most reliable batsman.
yoda Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Shup shup bolo. DC can't afford to lose their most reliable batsman. DC must sell/give up their best players every year. That's the only way they can be in contention for the coveted spoon.
