The madness of benching Morne Morkel!! (I am still shaking my head)

In only other match Morkel missed in this IPL, Daredevils conceded more than 200 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Today they conceded 222, the highest total of the season.
Seriously who makes these decisions??!! Effing who the feck is Sunny Gupta:hehe:, playing him against his Ranji team mates Murli and Badri, giving him the 1st over!! Okay fair enough Morkel didn't get in, but what happened to Nadeem, Reolaf Van Der Merwe, Nagar, or god have mercy Sir Aggy? Venu Rao bowls too. Is it so hard to drop Ross Taylor or Mahela!!!
...the Daredevils fifth bowler - three overs from Gupta and one from Sehwag - went for 0 for 68. Their fourth bowler, Varun Aaron, went for 2 for 63.
What are these feck coaches being paid for? making whimsical decisions. Not to worry, Champions league is Dilli's, but Viru needs to eat some almonds before than, hopefully gets rested for NZ series and T20 WC fresh for Champs Lg.

4 player restriction is a challenge for coach and captain. You gotta choose the right players for right conditions. Gambhir himself was a culprit on many occasions for going in with a wrong side for wrong pitch. But atleast he has a fall back plan. Viru never have a plan in the first place let alone fall back plan.

Has to be the stupidest decision to bench your best bowler no matter what the conditions or team balance. In Sehwag's own words:

Yes, we missed Morne Morkel, unfortunately Pathan got injured and had to maintain the balance. It was a good pitch and you could score 180 was chaseable, but 40 more runs was going to be difficult to chase.
BTW, chennai had to bench the then orange cup owner Faf when Hussey came back. That was definitely not bizzare cause it wasn't made for a playoff game and Hussey is a proven winner for CSK. In this case, Russel/Sunny Gupta, I mean WTF!

BTW, this chennai team I believe would have handily won even if Morkel had played. The level of play difference between the two teams was more than a missing player.

Also their bowling is not suitable for chennai ground. Even with this team he could have pulled it off if he had chosen to bat first.

Instead of dropping Morkel, they should have dropped Taylor/Jaya and brought in a spinner for Aaron. Now that may have been a good balanced thoughtful change for the pitch. Even then, if Vijay clicks, CSK was always going to put up a massive score.

Morkel on this patta would have been no better than Russel. Russel went for only 30 runs in his 4 overs. Morkel went for 37 in the match vs KKR in Pune. As always on ICF, the guy who is not in the team becomes the best player. The bad decision was to decide to chase in a high pressure game. But I dont think it is Viru's decision alone.

Morne Morkel has been dropped so that Chennai wins against Delhi. DMK had put this condition for supporting UPA
