Harbouring a militant? Commandos raid Umar Guls house Wasim Akram yesterday said "Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Umar Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez are popular in India and Indian fans have realised they can add to the charm of the league" We all know Afretards Charithra who had a terrorist cousin trying to kill Indians in J&K. I dont have to say anything more on how stupid it is to interact and allow Pakis into India when top 2 Paki celebrities have terrorists in their immediate family. Last but not the least Umar Guls uncle's Lashkar-e-XYZ is primary focus is not India but internal Paki fault-lines hence the arrest.
PESHAWAR: Fast bowler Umar Gul was in the news for reasons other than cricket on Tuesday when his house in Peshawar was raided by a team of army commandos and his brother arrested on charges of harbouring a wanted militant. GulÃÔ brother, Meraj, was arrested along with two other men on charges of providing shelter to his uncle, Haji Daly, who is believed to be an active member of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Islam. A local, on the condition of anonymity, told The Express Tribune that a team of commandos raided the house and arrested two paramedics, Younas and Shakil. The two were then moved to an undisclosed location. An official of the local police station claimed Haji Daly had been injured in the armed forces operation in Bara, and had fled to Peshawar and lived with Meraj for several days before leaving the city. ŵhe injured man was brought to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) with two local paramedics who changed his bandages, he claimed, adding that he left the hospital without his true identity being ascertained. Reports indicate that the two parademics arrested are the employees of a maternity home located adjacent to GulÃÔ house. The family owns the maternity home. When contacted, however, family members declined to comment on the matter. A cousin of Umar confirmed that a raid had been carried out and three people had been arrested. Aiding and abetting a criminal is itself a criminal act and punishable in most countries (not as much as being involved in a crime though). Being an accomplice isn't a hard requirement.

As per Article his brother seems to be doing that NOT him .

Fair enough but that does bring into question Umar's intentions too. He will be questioned.
Off course it does somewhat .He can't go clean unless he is investigated too,but that doesn't mean we start ridiculing him in that name of harboring militant like many are doing right now . If above news is true ,then for sure his IPL days are over without any doubt (whenever cricketing ties between India and Pakistan starts ).

Whether he is "directly" involved or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is how close linked the main stream society is to terrorist. And as an Indian, this link of Gul, is extremely relevant.

Militancy gone mainstream in Pakistan. Scary! In fact I read somewhere that many Pakis are busy fighting on behalf of vested interests in Bahrain and Syria. Would you classify them militants too? Personally i would say, hell ya!
