Raghav_12 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Look, i think Namo will allow Advani to be PM for 3 months He has shown in Gujarat that he can compromise with bringing the likes of Kesubhai Patel back to the BJP fold after the assembly elections. But realistically after Modi its Mr Chauhan of MP who has the next stab. A 3 month Adavni PMship will allow him to win over the Advani faction and cement his position. there is certainly no harm as the likes of Kulkarni in maharashtra for example have been well and truly destroyed by Modi loyalists like gopinath munde. The cadre at one time listened to kulkarni as the grand bjp strategist in the state along with gadkari are firmly in control of munde and modi loyalists like say Kirit Somaiya. The death of pramod mahajan was probably a big blow for Advani. He was somebody who had enough gravitas to stand upto Modi for Advani. Even Gadkari or Meenakshi Lekhi would have a chance ahead of useless person like Mr. Chauhan.
surajmal Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Panagariya, key figure in BJP manifesto, calls for big rollback of UPA laws Arvind Panagariya, an economist increasingly being seen in team Modi in the near future, has laid out a roadmap for the next Prime Minister. At least an economic roadmap. The markers in Panagariya's roadmap are easy to find: Quick recapitalisation of banks, extensive labour reforms, scrapping the new Land Acquisition Act, kickstarting privatisation of public undertakings and making sweeping changes in right to food and right to education laws. The question is whether the next Prime Minsiter will be able to do all these things unless he is aided by a strong majority in Parliament and a will to get the country back on the path of reforms. Labour: India needs to amend acts on trade unions, contract labour, industrial disputes and things like insurance and PF policies. Since almost 95 percent of India's workers operate in the unorganised sector, there is no creation of large scale industrial units. More workers should be brought into organised sector jobs. Land acquisition: The new act needs to be revised. The new rules favour the seller, leavging the buyer at his mercy. Infrastructure: Urgent need of reforms in highway and railway sectors. Electricity sector needs reforms too. Indian cities need to work on the Floor Space Index method, we need a much wider and more vibrant business district in big cities . Privatisation: This saw loss of momentum under the NDA government but now needs to be revived. Planning Commission: Needs to be scrapped, for whom are five year plans devised now? MNREGA: Poor use of funds with 30 percent diverted to materials and administration. Severe leakage along distribution chain, more than enough fake registrations and double registrations. Net subsidy is lower than thought. Solution is to allow each beneficiary household to choose between cash transfers of say Rs 10,000 a year versus MNREGA scheme. Besides, Food Security today only stresses on grains when the emphasis should be on proteins http://www.firstbiz.com/economy/panagariya-key-figure-in-bjp-manifesto-calls-for-big-rollback-of-upa-laws-76133.html
bulbul Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 No Advani or Rajanth , if not NaMo BJP should sit in opposition.
bulbul Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Gujarat chief minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Thursday met US ambassador Nancy Powell, who arrived in Ahmedabad on Wednesday night. Nancy Powell, the US ambassador to India, shook hands with Modi who presented her with a bouquet of roses at his official residence in western Gujarat state where he is chief minister, before entering closed-door talks. Powell and her entourage later left Modi's residence in the state capital Gandhinagar, after the meeting lasting almost an hour, but she did not speak to waiting reporters. The two are believed to have spoken about strengthening business and economic relations. Hindustan Times broke the story on Febraury 10 that US ambassador Nancy Powell had asked for and received permission from South Block to meet the Gujarat chief minister and was scheduled to meet him this week. Final nail in secular BS coffin :hatsoff:

Raghav_12 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 A shame despite being a designated CM this guy is not spending anytime in the state. Where is the accountability for the voters of state? Why doesn't he resign if he is so keen on becoming PM. Gujrat people need a full time CM not some caretaking stuff.
