NDTV opposing a national party or being biased towards the other is not a small issue and u can expect this small boycott by the bjp just a month b4 the elections to remain controversy free..of course i would say this aint the best decision, many will say they are running scared but its just for a couple of months.. meanwhile i havent seen ndtv showing opinion polls and election tracker for months now due to obvious reasons:cantstop:,where is pronay roy :shout:
I reckon it won't be just a temporary ban, if Modi and BJP come to power, then expect the worse for NDTV. I reckon it will cease to exist.

Joshi, however, refuted reports saying that the party will not take any decision that will compromise with its status. He said, "There is no poster war in Varanasi. It's all fiction, nothing else. BJP Parliamentary Board will hold a meeting on march 13 and and will take a decision. I will stand by the party's decision. No decision will be made that will compromise the party or status of Narendra Modi."

Lucknow BJP MP and key associate of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lalji Tandon said that he will not vacate his seat for anyone other than party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi

Modi spoke to the editor, Shahid Siddiqui, a Samajwadi Party parliamentarian, for an hour and a half. The news from this interview centered around Modi’s dramatic statement that he should be hanged if found guilty of the riots (since when do the accused decide their own punishment?). What went relatively unnoticed were the other things Modi spoke about. I was reading the interview, whose text is available in full in Urdu on the publication’s website (urdunaiduniya.com) and noticed these three things worth sharing. The first, most troubling aspect is his uneasy relationship with Indian Muslims. The interviewer asks him whether he dreams of Akhand Bharat, or undivided India, a concept that the Rashtriya Syawamsevak Sangh (RSS) talks about. This was a valid question because a report in 2010 quoted the current RSS chief, Dr Mohan Bhagwat, as saying: “We should start thinking how to be Akhand Bharat once again,†he said. The report added that “Bhagwat pointed out that all nations, including China, Russia and America, made no secret of stretching their land by harbouring expansionist tendencies in the national interest — and to be stronger nationsâ€. “It is only this country where her own citizens live like refugees away from their homeland,†he said with respect to the Kashmiri Pandits. “Land,†he said, “is an important factor in today’s geo-politics.†The report said that “this is not the first time that the Sangh has articulated the Akhand Bharat idea. The previous RSS chief, KS Sudarshan, had made this pitch on several occasions, particularly with regard to the Kashmir imbroglio.†When asked the question, Modi turned the thing around. He felt it was a Muslim conspiracy, saying: “Jo samrajwadi zehniyat ke log hain, wo Pakistan main Akhand Bharat ki tehreek chala rahe hai. Pakistan se tehreek chal rahi hai ke Pakistan, Hindustan aur Bangladesh ek ho jayein takey yahan Muslim aksariyat ho jaye. Aaj kal aap logon ke moonh mein bhi paani aa raha hai. Woh iss liye ke aap Akhand Bharat ke naam par Muslim aksariyati desh banana chahte hain. Sab mussalmanon ko ikhatta kar ke Hindustani mussalmanon ko aage rakh kar tanao paida kiya jaye — aap ka bhi yeh sapna hoga?†(People who think of empire are talking of Akhand Bharat. In Pakistan, there is a movement to unite Pakistan, India and Bangladesh so that Muslims are in a majority. Your mouths are watering these days at the prospect of creating a Muslim-majority nation in the name of Akhand Bharat. And getting all Muslims together, with the Indian Muslims at their head, to create strife. Isn’t this a dream of yours?)

What's with bjp followers threatening people and now tv channels on what they will do after the elections? It is like they believe they will get a james bond type license to kill after may 2014. I wonder how many actually believe they can do exactly what they want once their savior modi comes to power. :headshake:

Anyone who corners bjp supporters on matters relating to modi is likely to get these sort of threats, especially on twitter and in other online discussions(not ICF). I didn't see this behavior when manmohan singh was criticized over the last few years.

kejriwal has die hard fans. I don't see them issue threats like "jab modi ayega blah blah", and quite recently "wait for few months blah, blah, blah".

Random source: If you recall, around march of 2009, many thought if emergency will be declared becos they thought congress wil lose and will just go to the bins of history. This party has an uncanny nack of pulling victory from the jaws of defeat. In this election, if BJP dips to 170 and congress manages 120, I will call that a congress victory. Becos at 170, BJP cant form govt, cong will prop up kejri as PM with support of other parties. Now, are we all sure BJP will cross 170, I am not even 50% sure about that. Roughly speaking Divide BJP's prospects into 3 regions, West + Union Territories (MP, CH, RJ, GJ, MH, Goa and UT's); UP & Bihar, Rest of India(JK, HP, UTT, Haryana, DEL, JH, Assam, KA, other states where BJP is a zero). To hit 200 seats, BJP desperately needs to hit at least 95 in the 1st segment, 55 in UP and Bihar and 50 in the rest of India. If you see carefully, Congress has a card in each of the regions to dent BJP by 5-10 seats at a minimum. In the western area, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh are their targets. If they can cut BJP to size in MH (which is their weakest state in that entire region) using MNS (they guy has announced that he will contest and smartly supported Modi to ensure that his voters are even more confused whether to vote BJP/SS or MNS). I am sure congress is capable of pulling BJP down from 17-18 projected in MH to 14. Gadkari and Munde are fighting down to the micro level on whether Pune seat should go to Anil Shirole or Girish Bapat. Chhattisgarh as much as we all love to fancy, is not in the Modi wave zone at all. It is a remote state with its own dynamics. Last time BJP swept it. This time in the assembly polls, they just barely scraped through. They will find it extremely hard to retain that number. So there you go, in the western zone, if you factor in these 2 states, to hit 95, BJP needs land slides in RJ, GJ, MP to propel them to the 95 number. 50 in the rest of India is a big ask too. If you look carefully, the biggest contributors to the ROI (rest of India) for BJP are JH and KA. The damage in KA has been done 2 years ago itself. Anyway BJP has somehow crawled back into the scene. But still can they go beyond 12-13 in KA or will they go down to 10 based on local factors remains to be seen. See JH also, the state is reeling under a Modi wave, but JVM has put up a smart cand in Ranchi and now BJP is struggling. 2 more seats like that, the projected 11/14 becomes 8/14. One state they can count on is UTT (they will win worst case 4/5). If you look at Himachal, its not that easy, BJP did well last time and the candidates this time may have a hard time pulling it off. I wont be surprised if only Anurag Thakur pulls it off. The only reason BJP is projected to do well in Haryana is the AAP factor which is splitting the congress vote down the center. But I am sure, cong goons will force AAP to backoff in the last minute. This ROI is BJP's weakest region overall. If congress plays it well, BJP may not even scrape through with 30 seats in this entire region. Delhi will still vote AAP even if some of its voters may back Namo. The game is that all the M voters of congress will vote AAP in Delhi and that is enuf for them to produce an awesome result. So with these 2 regions if congress can cut BJP to size at 90+30 = 120 seats. BJP needs a whopping 80 seats in UP & Bihar to hit 200 and 60 seats even to hit 180. Of the 30 they will contest in Bihar, they may pull off 20-22. So they need a minimum of 38 seats in UP to even hit 180. I am not expecting a single seat in WB, Orissa, TN, AP, Kerala. It is very easy to get excited by seeing crowds at Namo rally and predict 4 seats in Orissa. But that is just unwarranted optimism. I see congress being able to stop BJP at 160 seats itself. BJP is banking on UP to a big extent to pull themselves out of this hole.

That's why congress is dangerous for India. The bastards are willing to retard India for their own selfish gains.

this may actually happen in 2014. But we are definitely going to have re-elections in 2015 or 2016 and BJP led NDA is definitely going to win a majority then. similar to 96-98.
