Earlier, Khanna had separately teleconferenced with Paes, Bhupathi and Bopanna. Paes said he would accept the committee's decision. Bopanna and Bhupathi, already in London for the Queen's Club tournament, reiterated that they would play in the Olympics as a team or not at all.
But Bhupathi dared the AITA to ban him, calling Paes a 'back-stabber' - a reference to the latter's decision to split at the end of last season. It's clear that personal egos and group loyalties may already have compromised India's chances of winning a coveted Olympic medal.
What the F is wrong with this guy? Everytime he is the one who is bad mouthing Paes in front of media. Highly immature of him to do so, that too repeatedly.

A guy (not just Bhupathi, but anyone) can be wrong once, twice, thrice. But not all the time. The sheer venom with which Hesh talks about him, despite them knowing each other for years, there is something we don't know about. And Lee does seem eccentric anyway. Maybe it was "ok" for him to walk out on his Olympic partner he was trying to mend fences with, right after the Olympics. But maybe for Hesh, it stopped becoming tolerable. Leander Paes is wrong.

I am sick of AITA, they know that paes and Hesh are not in talking terms, they had issues in the past, yet these people want them to play as a team...How on earth they win at Olympics..It is clear that Bopanna and Hesh are playing as a team for last one year, they should be sent to Olympics, Paes can pair with Som...More teams , more chance of winning..

There must be some private issue..But Paes has maintained public silence. How do we know whose fault it was. Just because Bhupathi makes a lot of public noise, we cannot assume that he is right.

It is generally the people who are wrong who tend to keep quiet. Whatever it is, Bhupathi has used some strong words and maybe he has a good reason to, as well.

vice versa also may be true... just because Bhupati vent his frustration in public doesnt mean he will be wrong automatically [people dont use words like "Backstabber" easily]

It doesn't matter who is right or who is wrong, but with so much hatred between two, it is foolish to expect a medal from them..This khanna dude seems to be thinking from his ****..

If he got 'backstabbed' once, twice..it is fine, but if got 'backstabbed' every time, then he is the fool/naive one. Anyway, the point is not who is right or wrong. Its pure childish of him to cry/bad-mouth every time he faces the media. Better behave like a man and take it up with Paes himself.

Dude, if you don't want to do something and are being forced to do so you will be biatching as well. He doesn't want to play in the olympics with Paes cause he says they have tried it 4 times and have failed. He says time for a change. Now instead of sending two teams, they want to force these two to play together. Blame the ITA instead of the players.

This is the first time he's spoken his mind on the subject. We could've done w/o this controversy, but I think AITA has been avoiding conflict resolution for a long time now.

Can someone tell me why the AITA should listen to Paes or Bhupathi? The last I checked it's their decision to send the team which they deem the best possible to the Olympics. If they feel, Paes Bhupathi is the best combination so be it. Why should Bhupathi or Paes think that they are automatically selected for the Olympics and they decide to choose their partners? This is really getting out of hand now. They're bickering like kids in the media. Goodness! 2 against 1, let Rohan and Mahesh team up, for the interest of our nation.

Both, Leander and Bhupathi are putting personal interests ahead of the country. WTH is Vece Paes doing in writing a latter to the AITA? In the short term, we may have an Olympic medal but in the long term these things will reflect badly on the upcoming players.
