Translation: Lubbers: CIA stopped the legal prosecution of Khan The American inteligence service CIA stopped legal proceedings in the Netherlands against the Paki nuclear spy Khan in 1975 and 1986. Translation: When asked, he (Ruud Lubbers) does not rule out an American double agenda, given the frosty relations between East and West. India was regarded as an ally of the Soviet Union, and India already had nuclear weapons. http://www.atoomspionage.com/lubbers.htm I would be happiest person if a dirty nuke goes off in US.

Nothing surprising in it.Without the godfather USA ,Pakistan could never even dream of nukes.USA could had stop Pakistan if it really want to.

Stopping prosecution != explicit support for arming with nukes. USA has had far stronger relations with Japan & RoK and they're not the ones brandishing the bomb despite their neighborhood. Besides, you being the real patriot should know where the P@k1 nukes came from :P

I dont wish to delete it as its his wish .. I want other posters to know what the OP wishes for so we get to know him better :hatsoff:
Fine with me, i'm all for free speech but in this day and age it has some consequences, some of which might affect the site.

Fine with me' date=' i'm all for free speech but in this day and age it has some consequences, some of which might affect the site.[/quote'] OP needs to be educated on horrific consequences of a nuke attack. Seems like we have many warriors in Indo-Pak who say things like this without full knowledge of the destruction and horrifying long lasting damage of a nuke attack.

that's sad and wrong man, but something like this is inevitable. technology has been devolved and someday its know-how are going to leak. terrorist will go for high value high causalities target. America England's geographic location will post logistic transportation issues. that leaves israel, india. israel is a smaller country with already the most secured borders in the world. india is the easiest target. we already had 26/11.those guys could have easily brought dirty nuke with them if they had any. we really shouldn't be wishing this upon others. our docile gandhiwadi past governments have made situation pretty hopeless for us.

Though America does have a strategy of countering powerful states by joining hands with and encouraging their weaker rivals, I dont think that is the case with India. We are/were neither powerful enough, nor posed a threat to the US and they didnt adopt this strategy with Pakistan like they did with China against the Soviets during Nixon's time. USA wouldnt have wanted Pakistan to get the nukes (China had far more to gain out of it), they have always resisted the proliferation of nuclear weapons. But once Pakistan did acquire it, the US had no interest in actively trying to denuclearise or vehemently condemn the event. India was in the Soviet camp and this development would have been viewed as a strategic positive rather than something to be wary about. They also had a cold relationship with us and viewed Indira Gandhi with mistrust (Kissinger called IG i a b!tch in one white house conversation). Come to think of it, Pakistan going nuclear was inevitable once India did it. Given that the raison d-etre of the Pakistan army is to protect the country from a overblown existential threat from India, such a huge strategic imbalance would be completely unacceptable to the Pakistani politicians and the army. Like ZAB said, "we are ready to eat grass and go hungry to accquire the bomb", they would have got it by hook or crook. At the end of the day it helped them against us just like it helps us against China by raising the cost of conflict enough to discourage leaders from being trigger happy.

This is a joke right. This is why they stopped persecution of AQ Khan in Holland court by removing all the important papers that indicted him of profileration charges. This is why they had sent aircraft carrier in 1971 war in Bay of Bengal. This is why they didn't allow proper access of David Headley to Indian authorities.

This report could very well be true..In the 70s American hated India (especially Indira) passionately and identified India with Russia. One has to only read remarks by Kissinger about Indira Gandhi.

Why so much disgust over a silly comment? Most of America's decisions do come to bite them in the back ..... When a country promotes (considering that they were paying for running Pakistan all through the making of the nukes)a rogue country get nukes completely disregarding the safety of its neighboring billions of people ,it doesn't deserve too much sympathy. I am sure no one here wants anything bad to happen including sehwag.....but the outrage is overdone.America is the only country that has come close to nuking us....a decision their then president was mulling......they are not that different from our rogue neighbor.

^^ Lets also not forget that the Americans created Al Queda and other similar organizations to nuetralize the Russians in Afganisthan. All the AQ leaders were in fact originally trained by the CIA. Even now America is funding Pakistan with billions while the real power in Pakistan (ISI) is training these Pakistani teams to unleash terror in India. I may not go as far as the OP, but America does deserve some payback for what it has done and still doing...because it is countries like India which will continue to suffer while the Americans sleep safe.

The Americans have their heads and balls in swapped positions for most of times. As Beetle rightly puts, it will haunt them appropriately. It's already happening in any case.
