Does Sehwag Deserve A Place in the Indian Team?

In Southafrica and In recent Test Series against England we saw Kaarthik and Jaffer did exeptionally well.Now i dont see Sehwag coming back in Indian side. ab sehwag ke fans mere peeche mat par jayo im just askin u ur opinion wether he deserves a place in team or Kaarthik Jaffer must remain the openers?

It will be hard for him to displace anyone in the side but it's impossible to ignore a talent like Veeru. Jaffer, despite the brickbats he gets, has delivered as has Karthik. The big 4 are alright and Dhoni surprised everyone(except his diehard fans). It's the kind of selection headache that all Indian fans won't mind having. The heart pines for Veeru at the top but the brain says for now there is no place.

All we need to get Veeru back in form, is the sight of Akhtar, Sami, Shabbir, Rana & Asif. Add Kaneria to the mix Sehwag is already pumping his fists (Boris Becker style!), in his living room every day :-)

As an opener ? No way. You don't change an opening combination when they have been scoring runs. As a middle order batsmen ? Yeah, i'd take him ahead of Tendulkar or Laxman.

he averages over 90 against PAK ... i know others ahve been doing well ... but Veeru owns PAK ... he has been dropped from test side ... a lil too quickly IMHO ... he still averages almost 50 .. Gangs and VVS have ordinary test records against PAK ..

what does owning pakistan mean? teams are different each time. don't think past performance means anything. yes, i do agree that he was dropped too soon from the test team.

When u play Pakistan more often than not, the team that withstands the pressure better triumphs. This is why our middle order wusses wont take us anywhere. You need Sehwag's aggression at the top. Asif's movement is Sehwag's only threat. He doesnt give a damn about Akhtar or his 100mph delivery.

haha its funny ppl want him in the side because he averages in the 90's against Pak. But ask them who he should replace - its not Ganguly whose average against Pak sucks. Use one reason uniformly.

Not yet... He can warm the bench. I would try Yuvi ahead of him.. Why forget Yuv. He is young and dynamic. Sehwag needs lot of catching up to do.
