Lack of Dhoni support, injuries brought that average up. Naturally he is a bowler who would average in mid 20's. Also you compare Sree to PK, PK has played handful of tests on his favourite pitches in England with lots of cloud cover. Lets see if he can repeat Santh's performances in SA or on flat tracks in SC. Doubt it. I do agree since England, Zak looks different, but he is still our best bowler. Sree exactly thrived because of seaming conditions in SA. In the same match PK and Sree bowled together PK outbowled him. There is no way in hell he is going to average in mid 20s.. Probability of his batting average getting there is higher.

I noticed in nets his speed was down and so did the commentators. It was obvious to the amateur that he was not at his best. Now he will never average mid 20's but earlier in career he could have. Still I hope he has a good 5 years and gets his average down to late 20's in all formats. This is achievable.

Can't expect him to take wickets when he is injured. He wasn't at his best. Taking nothing away from PK though...PK bowled well and it was good to see that..the only bowler who the english supporters actually respected when I went to the ground.

Through injury, misforturne, team management, captain, he has failed to translate his talent into being world class. Also he is skilled in many areas so has become distracted. When you are good at too many things or have many hobbies it is difficult to devote to one. Donald himself said Sree is amazing. He probably thinks between Steyn and Sree there is not much skill difference, difference is in application. I value Chappel, Donald input more than ICF analysis. In fact that is why you see Sree/Steyn comparision because it is genuine like you see Tindu/Lara comparision. I mentioned it before myself. The guy should be our leading bowler and captain but life doesn't always work out that way.
