India-KXIP fan Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Hopefully he has returned to form and rediscovered his touch its not the right idea to pick players for our team based on county performance :nervous: :haha: cheeky kunt
CSK Fan Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Few more such wicket taking performances in the next 2 weeks could be his ticket to T20 WC given the dire status of our bowling and spin bowling in particular. Ashwin is doing much better than Bhajji. He is also ranked 6th in ODIs. What are you talking about?
saneindian Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Ashwin is doing much better than Bhajji. He is also ranked 6th in ODIs. What are you talking about? Ashwin's record in 2012- 15 ODIs, 17 wickets@39, ER of 4.7 Bhajji went out of the team with exactly those sort of stats in 2011. 17 matches, 17 wickets@41 with ER of 4.3 As for the 6th rank, before the England tests last year, Bhajji was ranked number 9 in the charts before losing his spot in the national side. So not sure how that is relevant. In anycase, I was talking of the other spinners in the side in T20/ODIs.

Out of those 15 matches , 10 matches vs SL( who r better players of spin ) , 3 vs Aus in Aus.. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/26421.html?class=2;template=results;type=bowling;view=innings;year=2012 out of those 17 macthes , 6 vs SA , 4 vs WI .. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/29264.html?class=2;template=results;type=bowling;view=innings;year=2011 anyway Ashwin is shld improve himself or shld be replaced if we find a better bowler than him ( but not tobe replaced by Bhajji the Dartie :D )
Needforspeed Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Bhajji on a comeback run. Next a 5fer for Bhajji :yay:

Crookbond Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 ^ No doubt about that - but he's currently not. IMO, he has to start bowling the doosra more often. He has certain inhibitions about it on being for suspect throwing but without it he's not as effective.
BeautifulGame Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 The team could use the Bhajji of old Any team would.Even the Great Aussie team would had a spot in their squad for Bhajji at his peak.
Crookbond Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I heard he has taken a wicket in his first over?
Cricket Tragic Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Just to put things in perspective, Jeetan Patel has taken 46 wickets in 12 games @ 22 and that's in division 1. Any half decent spinner should be able to put in decent performances given the quality of a lot of the batsmen. Ojha averaged less than 15 with the ball last season for Surrey.
