Pak u19 teams are victim of their hype. generally no one knows a lot about u19 teams for any of the countries except for 1-2 familiar ones. difficult to predict who is going to win.
they have good fast bowlers but very very weak batting lineup

India has reached the semis because of their bowling. Sandeep sharma / Passi / Ravikant / Harmeet have been good, and got india till the semis. passi / harmeet / sharma have also contributed with the bat at crucial junctures and have proven to be match winners. The non contributors have been Vihari / AD nath / P Chopra. These are the weak link in india's batting. One gets a sense of confidence when you see Zol or Baba batting because of their technique, but when these folks mentioned above are on the crease, one gets a feeling they are about to get out anytime. Vihari / Nath have been a big big disapoinment. Vihari : Supposed to be a real talent from hyderabad, with his solid leg side play, he has been poor outside off and of the short ball. Did not show any panache to stick it out there and wait for the loose balls. Nath : He is our Dhoni outside asian conditions, he had a nice time in Asian tournaments like Asia cup / Quadrangular series, because his flawed technique of pushing hard at every ball works because the ball doesnt move or seam around that much. But in Townsville the conditions have been horrible to bat and only the batsmen with good technique can survive, which Nath has shown he cannot. Really surprising to see no effort has been put into their batting by the coach or their well wishers, if i can spot these weak links i'm sure the coaches, well wishers can also, but there doesnt seem to be any effort put in to get rid of the issues which are causing so much trouble.

India's Batting woes : --No solid opener to support chand. --One down is hot and cold in Alien conditions , Baba has not been very consistent. --Two down is pathetic. When Vihari comes you can be sure he will not stay for very long, and he doesnt disappoint you. --Three down: Vijay zol is a solid bat and one of the two classy batsmen in the line up. Problem is with his strike rate, hovers around 65 which is very very low compared to others in the tournament. Ben foakes like batsmen have 97 strike rate. -- Four down : Nath is pathetic like Vihari, strike rate is good if he stays for long but he hardly stays for long. --Five Down: Smith patel is also hot and cold, a bit more consisten than the other batsmen though. -- Six down and below. Nobody can bat!!!!!! had kalaria been around he would have provided with some stability, but in the current team, only Harmeet can hang around and score some runs. No explosive batsmen who can take the attack to the opposition!!! Strike rate of all the batsmen who have been scoring for india is around 65, which is very low and that has been one of the reasons they have been not able to put pressure on the opponent.

so good to read as an Indian We lost a few players because of injury so we might stick with Vihari and Nath

P Chopra has most 50s for India in this tournament till now, 2, 57 and 58 while opening in seaming conditions. He has looked the best batsman to me till now, good back foot game.

I do not have hopes from India from semis and finals, and feel happy the moment they cross a hurdle in these conditions in the past and if they somehow manage to cross semis / finals this will be an achievement of the very highest order. They have not been exposed to such hostile conditions, even though they had won the quadrangular tournament in Townsville earlier this year, but we have to keep in mind the quality of bowling has completely changed since. England / new Zealand / Australia all have armored their bowling with real quicks touching 140 - 150 kmph and thats really hostile on these wickets. If india manage to outsmart the teams in semis/finals, i'll be surprised and really happy. New Zealand is the team they did not beat in the Quadrangular series earlier in Townsville and lost to them with a heavy margin in the only game they played, the quicks did most of the damange for new zeland. Their batting is also good, so it'll be a 50-50 competition if india bats second, but if india bats first it'll be 20-80 to new zealand. If they scrap through to finals somehow, against Australia even if india bats second their chances are less, i'd give them 30-70. Hopefully the conditions / luck / skills all come together in the final 2 matches for india and they surprise all!!!! It's just a wish, no high hopes.

To me thats not good.

Even Unmukt too only scored runs against Zimbabwe. India have played on the toughest ground till now. Look at what happened England and SA batsmen on the same ground. De Kock who was scoring over 100 SR, Sami Aslam, etc. They too did not score. It is unfair to blame these guys on these alien conditions. It is fast bowlers game to lose and win there right now.

Unmukt i did not mention anywhere, because i know he struggled, but he was there to tough it out against west indies for 61 balls which is an achievement in itself. the reason to not compare the 3 batsmen with chand is because he single handedly scored 90+ 100+ scores to win the Quadrangular tournament and the rest could not touch 40, so you can make out he has something in him which can come out anytime, but we have not seen such a performance by any other batsmen, specially from the one;s i've mentioned, hence just saying, they lack in skill, atleast should be strong mentally.

anyone else noticed the team chasing in this tournament usually win from the top teams.
Pakis lost to WI :hysterical: Maybe Pakis are not one of the "top teams" after all. Couldn't defend and couldn't chase against top teams :giggle:

Chand didnt really fill me with great confidence so far in the tournament.Chopra looked slightly better than him technically. Hopefully he come to the party tomorrow
Our batting just hasn't clicked till now Chand Zol Baba Chopra are all good batsmen but they have been inconsistent in the tournament Only Nath and Vihari have been the disappointments
