People used to blame the batsmen who actually scored and the 'finishers' had no accountabilty. Batsmen who scored a 100 was blamed not the lower order. Your example of Dhoni actually goes against you, as Dhoni does not wait for Gambhir or Sehwag to finish the job after they score big, he takes the responsibity on himself as a lower order batsman. Even in the world cup final despite Gambhir scoring big, Dhoni had to finish. If Dhoni had failed would ypu blame him or Gambhir? Surely Gambhir did his job and Dhoni his. This Indian mentality of blaming the batsman who scored is the worst possible thing ever because it absolves the batsmen who fail and they have a free-ride
