Indians are always the most vocal about pathetic umpiring, the standard worldwide is shocking, but the BCCI seems convinced that unless the DRS can do more (WAY MORE) than just overturning howlers then its useless. We all saw how awful Dhoni was in using the DRS years ago, used it for the most ridiculous appeals, none were close to out, USE IT FOR HOWLERS AND IT WORKS FINE.

Yes BCCI needs to stop opposing DRS but that does not mean that every howler & umpiring incompetency can now be blamed on DRS Even if DRS is used there should be an expectation from umpires to be able to do their jobs within certain standards

E.g. HotSpot, Snicko, SuperSloMo, all depend on having certain standards for thermal sensors, high-speed cameras that can capture at certain frame rates, etc. etc. This technology is often expensive and while richer countries like Australia, England, and India can afford the best quality technology, if you standardise DRS accross all Test playing nations you're expecting nations like Zimbabwe and Bangladesh to implement it too. Will the technology used at the MCG or Lords be the same as that used in Bulawayo or Dhaka? If the technology is not the same, then the results won't be the same. Alot of these cricketing boards are struggling financially and to ask them to implement this technology across all their stadiums is a big ask. This is something that irritates me about the coverage of this issue in the media. All that gets mentioned is how the BCCI are greedy and evil by not opposing DRS. While there's no reason India can't trial it out in big series' against Australia and England, I don't think it's fair to expect it to be standardised just yet.

If we're only choosing from the squad: Ajinkya Rahane Gautam Gambhir Virat Kohli Yuvraj Singh Suresh Raina M.S.Dhoni © Ravi Ashwin Amit Mishra Bhuvaneshwar Kumar Shami Ahmed Ashok Dinda Still a pretty bad ODI side.

Drop Sehwag, Gambhir, Rohit and Ishant forever. Sehwag and Gambhir have lost it and don't seem to give a feck anymore. Rohit's got so many chances that soon he may reach 100 ODIs with single digit scores, I declare him useless. Ishant deliveries are so harmless, that even the best ones are several feet away from the stumps.

Mishra is a joke selction in squad, let alone team. Fat, podgy, loves a no ball. Simply not a limited overs player. His selction once again shows idocy of selctors
But he's taken some wickets in FC cricket, so if he's such a good bowler he should prove himself in ODIs right.

haha Dropping Gambhir/Sehwag for Rahane? If there is anyone who should be dropped and kicked from this team immediately is Rohit Sharma. Rahane should play instead of Rohit.

Don't think Ravi is that bad ... he just made 2-3 howlers' date=' right? :winky:[/quote'] Yeah you would know atleast he is not partially deaf and blind like most of his colleagues in domestic cricket .
