King Tendulkar Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Bhaji used to bowl tightly with always close to best economy. But only pick up 1 or 2 wickets. He would get slaughterd here for not taking laods of wickets every time and posters saying he is our primary spinner, need him to pick up 3 or 4 wickets. Those same posters rush to defend ashwin and say but he had good economy. Hypocricy
NareshK Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Bhajji never bowled in the power plays. He never used to pick wickets either. Ashwin picks more wickets and a way better batsman. No comparison really.
King Tendulkar Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Bhajji never bowled in the power plays. He never used to pick wickets either. What cricket were you watching over last decade??? At the end of the day Ashwin is not picking up wickets but is economy is always decent. Similar to what bhaji used to do. Yet Bhaji was hammered for doing that and Aswhin praised, just pointing out inconsistencies. For the record ashwin is doing ok if keeps it tight. I am not unhappy with his perfomances
R.D forever Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 ^^ nah I still think he is better than bhajji. He flights the ball and creates chances . Has been unlucky so far not to pick 3 or 4 wickets.. Far better than bhaji's darts.. If u ask me if Ashwin should be replaced , yes definitely if and when we find someone better .But if it is between ashwin and bhajji it is ashwin for now..

My point is not to reacall bhaji, his time is up. Just bhaji done this good job for years and get hammered. Now ashwin is doing it, everyone happy

King Tendulkar Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Ashwin should have picked 2 or more wickets in first game but was denied by the legendary umpire S Ravi. Us bhaji supporters used to make same excuses for him. They fell on deaf ears:giggle:
NareshK Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 The criticism for Bhajji was more for not picking wickets in tests. Ashwin also got stick for not doing well in England tests and if he doesnt improve and pick wickets, he may well get dropped from tests. In ODIs, with his economical bowling and picking 1 or 2 wickets he is doing a decent enough job.

Now ashwin is doing it, everyone happy That's because he is young and ppl hope that he ll learn and improve.. Whereas Bhajji is struggling after playing for almost a decade . what else can he learn new?? Shewag got 31 yesterday and ppl blame him .. But if rahane gets a 31 tmr no one ll blame him .. Hope

I'm not saying Harbhajan should be recalled or that Ashwin should be dropped, just pointing out the hypocrisy.
Cevno Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 If you bank on a #7 to score runs for you' date=' you know that your team is doomed. It is top 6 which has to score runs and botttom 5 has to take wickets.[/quote'] Then might as well play with 5 bowlers and compare Jadeja with other bowlers only. Also means deserting the combo that won us the WC.
rkt.india Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Then might as well play with 5 bowlers and admit that Jadeja is playing as a bowler. Even Dhoni admitted Jadeja played as a bowler.
Cevno Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Even Dhoni admitted Jadeja played as a bowler. Then he should be compared with other bowlers as far as his selection is concerned. This means deserting the combo that won us the world cup too, and that also when our batsman are not in form.
Cevno Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 So Jadeja played as a batsman in the final test and as a bowler yesterday.
Iconoclast Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Dead Rubber = Match Fixers Delight Keep a close eye on the Akmal brothers, Wahab Riaz and others ...
CSK Fan Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Kohli to score a 100 in the dead rubber Any takers? I will offer good odds of 10:1. So if you are in for say $1mn on Kohli not scoring a 100, I will pay you $10mn if you are right. If he scores a 100, you pay me $1mn Maximum bet for 1 person is $10mn. Only the first 5 bets or bets upto $30mn will be taken whichever happens first Disclaimers 1) All $ are ICF ones 2) All bets will stand void in case of match being abandoned or rain curtailed. So if full 50 overs are not bowled, bets are void 3) I might take upto a week to settile the winning amount as I am traveling
Rohit S. Ambani Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Well if Rohit Sharma doesn't play 3rd ODI then nobody will score 100 for India and it will be 3-0.
