Nobody. Zaheer was a thinking bowler who understood his limitations/strengths over time and developed into a world class bowler over time. From his debut in 2000/01 until now you could really see the transformation over the years. Honed his skills in the county circuit came back with a bang.The man utilized conditions developed into a very good newball and more potent with the old ball. Until like 2011 WC he is an special asset to the Indian team and he still is if he gets his form right. I don't see any thinking bowlers in India at the moment.

You dont get thinking bowler out of rookies until some one is highly experienced FC performer and has played in the most competitive and quality FC setup like Australia. Every thinking bowler himself was like any other rookie at some point but became skilled and thoughtful with experience.

But even during his rookie days, Zaheer bowled with a lot of brains. His only problem had been injuries and the after effects of it. But, he always came up with briliiant spells like the one at Brisbane or his spells in New Zealand,

Zaheer too used to lack control in those days and was not consistent but will come up with amazing performance every now and then. Regarding NZ tour in 2002, those pitches made Daryl Tuffey look like Joel Garner. I meant getting bowlers like McGrath, Zak, Steyn is a process. They do not become what they are overnight. Even with lots of ability, bowlers can be lost likes of Munaf and RP are perfect example of that. We need a system to prevent these situations.

Umesh and Ishant will become a good pair starting this season. Hopefully we'll get a true world class bowler averaging in the 20's like Chandigarh's Kapil Dev.

That is a different thing. You cannot do anything with this aspect of a bowler but just kick them out like Zaheer was kicked out in 2005 when he also had developed the same attitude, got fat, no intent in bowling, but Zaheer came out of his misery as a better bowler.
