I started watching cricket from 96. I just just 10 then. I was shy in school and I couldn't play cricket properly because I was little shy and our physical trainer scolded me in front of everyone for dropping a catch. I felt very bad and thought of leaving cricket. But my uncle who visited us for summer holidays showed us how to enjoy cricket. Within a month I started playing and I fell in love with fast bowling. I am not exaggerating, I used to bowl really fast and it was great way to express myself and got rid of my shy character. When the school opened after our summer holidays, I surprised everyone and the same physical trainer made me the captain of junior cricketers in our school. I became very popular in my school and made lot of friends who are still my best friends. I owe lot to cricket man. Its emotionally connected with no matter what others say about it.

I hail from a small village where friends would all gather and watch matches. Never liked to watch match alone. India Pakistan match used to have festive atmosphere.

I remember watching the 2003 Ind-Pak encounter at a shop in Kolkata. And everyone would gather around that shop.

I remember 93 Australasia cup is the time when I got interested in cricket more than football. A very few ppl used to afford dish connection with their tv back then. That Ind-Pak final was my first full live watched cricket match. Enjoyed live radio commentary a lot with school mates hiding uder the desk in the class room; some high time memory indeed.

Does anyone remember the magazine which hit the stands during Azhar - Cronje Fixing times. The quality was better than Sportstar and it was an exclusive cricket magazine.

Watching matches, listening to commentary on the radio. Discussing the cricket during assembly and eagerly wait for the lunch so that we can listen to cricket commentary properly. Sportstar, Cricket samrat, center fresh cards. I remember there were two chewing gum brands which had this cricket card offer. Center fresh cards were bigger and gave lot of details including WC records and recent series records. Other types of card had just basic information. You can get a Steve Waugh card and win many more. :D
