BERGKAMP Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 rahane gambhir pujara tendu kohli nohit (give him the full nz and eng series, if he flops then drop him for whole of 2013) dhoni yadav zaheer ashwin ojha
carnish Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 By the way, where did Waseem Jaffer disappear? We could have taken him to England, at least he has been there twice before and knew the conditions. Insread we auditioned Mukund and Vijay in the West Indies! Jaffer was definitely a good choice and scored heavily in domestic games but thats cause he plays with a mindset that there is no time barrier and he just needs to get his team a first innings lead which will do the job for them. While playing for India that doesnot work esp. with Gautam in the ranks playing an aggressive game and getting similar amount of runs in quick time .. Had Jaffer scored in a similar manner to what he scored for Mumbai while playing for India for two years maybe the selectors would not have dared to touch him but he had a technique problem with the incoming ball which was found out at the international level. Now Jaffer has no chance cause of the age factor plus no one knows if he has any how improved his pace of batting.
1983-2011 Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 ^^^Jaffer is scoring heavily in the league cricket in england btw (it dont count but shows he still has passion for the game), this is his 3rd consecutive season in england
Cricket Tragic Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 We did that at Perth and Adelaide during Australia 2007/08 didn't we? Adelaide, not Perth. He also opened in the match vs SL where Tendulkar got his 35th.
Pagalpanti Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Gotta watch out for Neil Wagner, he is quick and is getting good shape away from left handers (into the right handers). Indian batsman often struggle with inswinging deliveries.
cowboysfan Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Pujara should be picked. But knowing our selectors they will select the "tailunted" No-hit Sharma. that would be a travesty but i wont be surprised.
carnish Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 I had predicted 2 centuries for Kohli in the ODI series and he did it .. Now I am predicting two 100s for Kohli in the two tests against NZL too, one in each game ... If he doesnot get them I will be really dissapointed.
ShebbySB Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 What should be the test squad for the KIWI series? This is my pick:- Openers:- Rahane Gambhir Sehwag Middle-order:- 3)Kohli 4)Sachin 5)Laxman:(( 6)Pujara Mandeep(reserve) Keeper:-Dhoni© Spinners:- Ashwin Ojha Rahul Seamers:- Zaheer Umesh Aaron/Ishant(if fit) Else give Shami & Awana a go.
wanted_desi Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Mandeep didn't even make to India A :( I know, he looks like test class, but it will take some time. Our selectors don't have vision for test, they gave Yuvraj and Raina lots of chances in test matches when they were pretty average even at domestic level.
the_indian_fan Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 sehwag gambhir© rahane kohli pujara raina saha/naman ojha(w) ishant(if fit)/praveen kumar ashwin/irfan pragyan ojha zaheer reserves: manoj tiwary umesh rahul sharma tendulkar & laxman should retire
Sandy99 Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 O a serious note,, he shouldn't be discarded completely...class is permanent
