What happened to him in London almost looks like he is replaced with Dubya Poor Mitt Romney. His European tour that was supposed to be a campaign-boosting, charm-fest, but the trip has taken a turn for the worst, with Romney gaffing it up during his time at London Olympics. Those gaffes have inspired Twitter trends like #Romneyshambles, #Mitthitsthefan and #AmericanBorat. First, a Romney advisor was quoted saying President Barack Obama doesn't understand the "Anglo-Saxon heritage" of Britain and the United States. Then, in an interview with NBC, Romney questioned if London was really "ready" for the Olympics. Prime Minister David Cameron jabbed back at Romney's insulting comments, telling the Telegraph, "We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere." Cameron refers, of course, to when Romney's Utah-based commodities firm assisted during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah City. When the world got wind of how Romney was treating his London hosts, the jokes came almost too easily. Twitter flooded with quips from users and "#Romneyshambles" quickly turned into a popular Twitter hashtag in the UK on Thursday afternoon, according to Yahoo News. Democrats capitalized on the #Romneyshambles trend with a video compiling the various gaffes Obama's likely opponent has made during his London trip. Romney said that there are initial glitches in all events and they get sorted soon. Off late the politics has been quite cheap.

The Republican lot for 2012 was easily the worst ever fielded. And yet it is not slam dunk for an in-office President. Really tells how much of a fiasco this has been for Obama.

Grade A arsehole[/quote'] When did teachers become a federal issue? Education budgets are locally funded and teachers are paid off local property taxes. The President has nothing to do with it. More to the point: (1) Tenured teachers cannot be fired. It is not hard to get tenure in public schools. Promotions and raises are granted by seniority and not merit. Streamline the administration, decrease paperwork, reward good teachers, fire the bad ones, and keep the focus on academics. But, when someone proposes this, he/she is branded as "anti-teacher," "anti-education" etc.

Yes. George Bush's mess to clear, economy falling apart, war overseas etc. Yep completely agree. He also had the biggest majority that a US President can expect to have. That is equally true and undebatable. Phir bhi result has been ghanta. There is only so much time you can blame Republicans for not being affective partners. Look at the Colorado gun violence, for example. Republicans will never support gun restrictions. But Obama/Democrats didnt do anything either. Ek bhaasan de kar chup. You talk big reforms but ignore the reality that passing even the credit card bill of rights act required allowing guns in national parks :haha: The answer was out there once ACA was passed and he was asked by a citizen on why the public option did not pass; the answer's out there, lack of support in the Senate. Don’t cut foreign language teachers and art class; cut cumbersome work rules, sweetheart purchase agreements, and thin out the layers of patronage appointees who divert resources away from teaching into paper pushing. As a teacher (albeit at the college level), this hits close to home for me.

Grade A arsehole No freaking way. This is the best possible choice among GOP candidates I saw. Counting Ron Paul out. The level of discourse was absolutely shocking to say the least. I have to say if you are true conservative then you would want to distance yourself from the nutwing party. As for Mitt, I really don't know if he has any track of his views on different issues. I mean every politician flip flops at some level. But Mitt Romney is completely different beast. Although, I do believe that he is no Bush and he wouldn't do much harm to the general state of things.
